Big named player that was at the Barcalona and real Madrid of the world who don't really want to be here. I.e Ibrahim Afellay, jese, Bojan Krkić, Giannelli Imbula, Saido Berahino. All players with great rep who thought they are bigger then the club they play for....something Shaqiri already said whist they was fighting relegation.

Affelay- plagued by injuries, he used to be good in his days, but was just unlucky in the recent years. He's 32 now, so it was hard for him to help Stoke anymore after all the injuries have taken thier toll.

Jese- played little this season, also because of injury problems. Wouldn't have been half bad for Stoke if Jese had played more.

Bojan- really different player from Pedron. While Pedro is a fighter and runs a lot, Bojan is a static player, very technical, like Ozil. Really, it doesn't matter that they came from Barclona or Real Madrid. You have to judge them as players. And Bojan and Pedro have nothing in common in their playing style.

Imbula- wasn't in the squad this season, wouldn't have been half bad, they might have even avoided relegation with him as defensive midfielder (could have been a few extra points). They didn't go down the year they used him!

Berahino- was he a player with great rep?? He was just a youngster with one good season and some matches for the England U21. A promise if you'd like.
While Pedro has had constance for years

He will be snapped up by a bigger club than ourselves.

First player born this century to score in the English League.

Wouldn't sign, expensive, big wages and getting on a bit. Would rather we go for someone like ademola lookman. Young, skilful and pacey with a good resale value.

Antonio and possibly Oliver Burke would be better value and possibly fit in more.

Totally agree , never buy a player whos career is on the wane but players who are going to improve . Pedro is the former so no thanks .

And we still need a striker

You are totally wrong, did not play because of his appalling attitude. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Well, actually, Stoke went down because they didn't transfer any fast and good attacking players.
The only one they had was Shaqiri and he did good each year in the PL, kept them up as much as he could.

What other players like Pedro did Stoke sign? Up front they were relying on old man Crouch, young flop Berahino, young Egyptian they hoped would grow Sobhi and Mame Diouf, who had been at the club for ages. In my opinion, they should have brought in many more acomplished players up front.

Oh, you meant Jese. Well, he hardly played for them (just 600 minutes, with 1 goal and 1 assist) and wasn't fit when he did. Not compared to Pedro's situation, who has always been fit, never had any weight problems and always runs from one box to another.

Speak to Stoke fans....they are not impressed at all. He didn't have the fight for a relegation battle

This is not always true. Yes, I agree it's better to buy young players on the rise. But if you know football, you can also get very good players in a moment when they're a bit underrated.
Depay or di Maria were considered to be on the wane when in Man Utd. And look at them now.
Barca let Dani Alves go and then they regretted him for 2-3 years. Pedro is a lot like Dani Alves- thin, fast, no fat at all, will push 35-36 at the top level easily.
