Totally agree.

I was very interested to hear that Steve Parish voted against bringing the transfer deadline forward. Did he give any idea of his reasoning?

I think that could be really good for us so that we have all players in place before all the August games are played. In the past we have possibly dropped points by having an incomplete squad (and an underwhelming pre season)

Since Parish likes to do all his signings just before the deadline why should it be a problem to bring that process forward? If anything it will give the agents less time to spread rumours that complicate discussions.

Parish doesn't like doing the last minute deals he has even said so himself he said most times clubs/agents force this to happen (i think he plays hardball too much as well which doesn't help)

The transfer deadline being moved will only work if all the other EU leagues do the same other wise it really is not going to offer an advantage to clubs like Palace it would be a disadvantage.

It's about time football got on the same page the rules should be the same over all of europe the same with transfer windows.

Good points

Pochettino is in the paper today saying this, that it gives a 'massive advantage' to European clubs as you have a risk that 'things will happen'. I guess he is more worried because he is in the Champions League and if he has an injury on 10th August he can't do anything about it but his European competitors can.

That would be what Steve Parish calls a 'luxury problem'.

What has been a problem is that the clubs we try and buy from don't have time to find replacements for our late bids. That at least won't be an issue - they will have 3 extra weeks!

Interesting to see how it pans out.

I think that we all know that whilst Pulis performed a miracle and kept us up he didn't fulfil his contractual obligations to stay with the club until 31st August.

I agree with BD that the court case made us look cheap as whilst Pulis earned his £2m by virtue of keeping us up his actions also increased Parish's share value by many tens of millions

Made us look cheap? Pulls has well documented previous.

I take it from your stance you condone TPs behaviour? How else could you consider someone stiffing us for the equivalent of a decent player’s annual salary as something not worth pursuing?

SP did the right thing in the right way. No grandstanding, went to arbitration where legally, all details would remain private, but TP refused to accept the judgement and decided to play it out in public. We didn’t look cheap, Pulis looked and was proven to be a liar and cheat.

Would we have been in a better position then if Pulis had waited a fortnight and then told us he wanted out? How many PL players "annual salaries" would it have cost if, rather than staying up, we'd been relegated? As already stated, his departure was by mutual consent and he'd done what was required to earn that bonus.

It's difficult for a club that's been in administration twice in a decade to start taking a moral stance over monies owed. Parish and co left it 'til the 11th hour to purchase the club, when Jordan, who'd recued us previously, was totally on the rack, and they could pick it up for a relative song.

Never mind the major creditors, look at the long list of small local businesses that lost small fortunes. It was left to the supporters to repay the St John's ambulance. Were you one of those, like myself, who chucked in their £50 to keep us afloat before the buyout (I suspect not)?

For us, and the current owners, to pretend our sh*t doesn't stink when it comes to who owes what to who is either arrogant or delusional.

I don't condone Pulis's behaviour at all and in fact think that he was rather stupid as if he was that desperate to get away from Parish all he had to do was to wait a couple more weeks then take his bonus legitimately.

I also think that you are personalising it by saying that he stiffed "us" as although we are fans of the football club it was Parish and his fellow shareholders that he allegedly stiffed.

If Pulis hadn't come in and saved the club from relegation we probably wouldn't have popped straight up again so the club would be worth say £10m instead of the £100m that it's worth today.

Despite him acting unethically I will always be grateful to Pulis for saving the club that I support but I would have preferred it if Parish let sleeping dogs lie rather than pursuing his pound of flesh from the man that made him very rich indeed

Of course relegation might easily have been the outcome of his walking out immediately before the season began. After he left we had one decent spell with Pardew before he went to pot but we haven't had good and stable management from that day to this. If Hodgson can build on what we have now we may finally get that back, and of course the performance and behaviour of intervening incumbents is not Pulis' fault, but he left us in the lurch and he knew he was doing it.

When the outcome of that court case was determined there were plenty of people here who (like me) considered that he had got what was coming and we had what we deserved. The contract made staying in post until at least the end of August a condition of paying the bonus, and it made that provision for a reason: to discourage the manager for doing exactly what he did. Any prudent businessman would have acted to enforce the clause.

So, I take it some of you'd welcome Pulis back if Hodgson leaves, zat right?

You don't even know me

so because previous owners of the club have been poor, we should now let others run rough shod over us?

Parish dealt with Pulis the right way, Pulis decided to make the dispute public.

As for your first point, we would have had a little longer to look for a manager due to the international break and possibly not ended up with Warnock. All ifs buts and maybes.

You have an interesting view point on events. The mutual consent isn't true, Pulis wanted his money early, supposedly to buy his Daughter/son a house on the understanding he would forfill his contractual obligations. As soon as the money hit his account, he left and house was purchased and broke the terms of his contract. That can be interpreted as mutual consent in the same way Jordan let Dowie leave to move North to be near his family, only North turned out to be Charlton. Jordan as was Parish didn't like being made to look a fool, both took action through the courts, which is their right.

Parish and Co purchased Palace for the best price they could, which is normal business practice and not illegal or wrong. The creditors have no recourse to the new owners of any business that has been bought whilst in administration, that debt belongs to Jordan. You seem to think Jordan was on the rack, strange he had a £100k watch stolen recently, he doesn't seem to have come out too badly from events.

You appear to be the one taking a moral stance here.

Post match yesterday RH reiterated the importance of the upcoming window given the key figures we are likely to lose. He stated clearly that we should not be facing a relegation dogfight next year, but it hinges on recruitment.

Possibly our most important transfer window since the first season in the top flight?

Hats off to Parish for how he has conducted himself since FDB. The FDB fiasco reminded me a bit of something I witnessed on the job a few years back when a colleague made a huge and costly error. Before that the guy was a bit on the arrogant side, and was a real know it all. After this earth shattering clanger which cost us dearly with one of our customers, he did show a bit more humility from that point forward.

Something went seriously wrong on an epic level with the recruitment of FDB. We will never know what truly went on there but there was a funny youtube vid put out by someone which involved Parish taking in the pleasures of Amsterdam before making the decision.

I do believe that this taught Parish something, and I think he may think now that with RH, more than in any other situation, we need to back the manager now more than ever before.

I have enjoyed Parish keeping a bit of a lower profile since that all went down, and I think we should all take our hats off to him for getting RH in, and perhaps starting to change his thinking of transfers (as per his last interview to the CA).

I look forward to the upcoming transfer window, and hope more than anything that we have a good one.

Dear Mr Parish and co,

Firstly, may I congratulate you on another terrific season. Let's be honest, the start was dreadful. You're not the first board to be seduced by a big name. DeBoer had a great record at Ajax and is widely regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation. It felt like a gamble when we got him in and it proved the case. Straightaway at home to Huddersfield you could feel something wasn't right. The style of play he demanded didn't fit and his treatment of players such as Luka was disgusting. Despite hostility in the media, you acted decisively and enforced change, bringing in Hodgson. Given his record with England, it was a bold move but you have all been vindicated. Roy is a terrific fit.

Moving on, this summer is vital but how often do we say that? I'm certainly feeling like we've been here before. All I ask is that we have a settled summer. Please can Roy be here next season. Please can we support him in the transfer market. Please can we keep Zaha. We are one good summer of dealings away from having an amazing season.

Thanks again for all your hard work. Some supporters get annoyed at 'looking back' but I'm certainly not one of those. 8 years ago my son was born. There was a period of time before he was born when I was genuinely concerned my boy would not have palace to support and my dream of taking him to selhurst would vanish. That he has since only really known palace as a premier club, a club that buys 30m strikers, has class like Zaha on the wing and has received permission to build a beautiful new stand, increasing the capacity to above 30k is magnificent. I often need to pinch myself at how far we've come. You deserve so much credit. And for those fans who demand I 'crawl out your a**e' I promptly flick a metaphorical middle finger in their direction. What has been achieved in the last 8 years is something I will forever be grateful for.

So, have a lovely summer. Steve, enjoy the karaoke on foreign shores but please, I beg you, let this be a settled few weeks. Let me watch all my recorded highlights of palace winning this season build an appetite for 2018/19. Let me enjoy the World Cup knowing my club is nicely bubbling on the stove before we unleash a delicious feast in August. I really can't be dealing with any dramas from now until then.

Regards,

Laddo
