Havent we all been here before.. 'Right we're safe lets push on next season'. Having said that it just feels more achievable with Roy. Its the hope that kills you as a Palace fan

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Premier League Finishes' by Midlands Eagle Since promotion, we have achieved finishes of 11th, 10th, 15th, 14th and 11th successively. After the first two seasons, there was much promise that we never then had the opportunity to build on. Since we have now got back to midtable and with Roy at the helm, can we have a season of consistent stability? 11th next season would be good so long as relegation is never a possibility. I hope we could challenge for top half though. What do others think?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Premier League Finishes' by Midlands Eagle With a better start we would have been top ten this season. We have a good enough squad and the right manager to do so. A lot depends on who leaves in the summer and who comes in.

Would just like us to be ready for match 1, which we’ll have to be with the new window closing the Thursday 2 days before and preferably nearly all training together a few weeks before, or a strong 11 plus a handful of subs at least. Can’t really ask for more than that and we have the best manager we can hope for who can work with that. Just being reasonably clear of relegation I’ll be really happy with although that’ll depend on injuries and availability. It would be great to make the Europa but I get the feeling it’ll hurt us with all those extra matches if we make the group stage and not the extra money needed for the players you need.

I think for a club of our size and resources, qualifying for the Europa League would be a poisoned chalice. I'll be very interested to see how Burnley do next season.

We should aim for the top half, but top 7, let alone top 6, is very tricky. Burnley have hit 7th this year with 54 points, but it's not been so easy in previous years. Points for 6th/7th in recent years are: Getting the 60+ points we'd need is a big ask.

Well I think 7th and below are becoming open to anyone - we've seen the likes of West Ham and Everton threaten to solidify themselves as top clubs in recent years, and then suddenly find themselves threatened by relegation - but that top 6 of City, Utd, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal won't be permanently cracked for a while, I think. Definitely think that 7th-20th will be anyone's guess next season, though.

I think that providing we can keep the nucleus of the squad together. And bring in 3 or 4 players that are capable of a first team place. That we are capable of having a very good season with Roy at the head of things With the promoted teams, The relegation issue is pretty much dependant on being able to bring in players that are at premier league level, And firstly that they have the funds to spend and secondly providing players are attracted to the clubs. Unfortunately it is all really about the money them first couple of years

it's great to finish the season on such a high but 2 things to consider 1)RLC - whilst he's had injuries and at times it's unclear what his best position is when he has been fit (month before xmas and last month of season) we have played our best football and he has clearly helped Wilf. Getting him on another season loan would be great, although not sure if achievable. 2) the 3 relegated teams were a bit surprising and had all been in Prem for a number of years. Even Southampton who finished 8th last season almost went down. You can take nothing for granted in this league - although saying that injuries and Benteke loss of form were massive obstacles to overcome and Roy did with flying colours!!
