Talking to my Rangers fan friend just there, she thinks Tavernier is deffo PL standard and would be a big loss for Rangers, but seems happy enough there. However, a PL wage dangled in front of his hooter might well merit a sniff.

Pfff, I'd like to keep McArthur just like any other Palace fan, but I'd love me some James Tavernier in a position that desperately needs improving (right back). He's great, had a great seasons in Rangers. Left English football at 24 after not getting the playing time he deserved. Now he's 27, not old, a good age for a right back.

I have seen a lot of this guy - he is good going forward but not a good enough defender - would not be a good swap IMO.

Stevie G hasn't forgotten us spoiling his Anfield farewell. Keep JMac in anycase as he has had a great season.

Is this the bloke who Scottish football was raving about; and who was one of only a couple who put in a decent shift for Scotland when England tonked them at home a little while back?

If so he is VG indeed.

No, it's not him. He didn't play in either of the matches against England. I thought it must have been the other awesome right back they have, Callum Paterson, who almost single handedly qualified Cardiff to the Premier League (ok, exaggeration, but I just want to signal him out).
But turns out he didn't play either.

Perhaps it was Andy Robertson, the left back from Liverpool. He's pretty young. Or maybe the striker Leigh Griffiths. He scored 2 direct free kicks against England. But he's not very young at 27.
Or it might have been the young left back Tierney that Manchester United are probably going to buy this summer.

They actually have some very good wingers too. Matt Ritchie, Matt Phillips and Ryan Fraser are all good PL players in my opinion. The national team should do better.

Tavernier played 10 matches in his entire career as center back. And over 200 as right back. Ease up on the center back thing, it's not his position and not the position he excelled in.
He has been great as right back so he should only come in as right back, His height is not that of a center back either: 1,75metres

What's that in feet & inches?

Paterson is a right-back by trade but I believe that Warnock played him further forward in a number of games.A rampaging right-back who loves to make forward runs and he can score goals - scored 10 for Hearts in season 2016/17.He actually started off as a forward.Delivers a good long throw.Warnock signed him for £400,000.

Yup, that's the one, I was going to suggest we try and buy him, but didn't want to be one of those posters who urges Steve to get his cheque book out the moment anyone puts in a good show on the telly.

So I just thought it.
