we moan about a lack of entertainment in football.
Then moan when we get entertained.

I've had the same seat for donkey's years, and a part of my "entertainment", which I used to look forward to, was chatting to my neighbours for 20 minutes before the game and again at half-time. That has become well-nigh impossible because of the intolerable racket coming out of the PA system.

I realise that's a separate issue from the goal "celebrations", but it all seems - as others have said on this thread - to be part of the assumption that we can't be trusted to create our own atmosphere - which we can.

On that subject, I think the artificial crowd noise that is blasted out before the teams come on to the pitch is almost an insult to the real flesh-and-blood fans who make the real noise.

Rant over - for the time being.

Let's be honest, the best part of celebrating goals is the whole ground singing We Love You. The other stuff just gets in the way

Yeah that goes way back in the club's history doesn't it?

Bexley Dave

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

"The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum)

Dean Friedman used to play for Palace, did he? Well, I thank my lucky stars for that!

It's "WE can thank our lucky stars that we're not as smart as we like to think we are". nearer the mark than 'glad all over' for a lot of the posters on here. me included. truly terrible song.

Blimey Bexley
You get too much froth on your pint.
Yes it's not been around long but we sing it better than anyone.
You here on tv and at grounds with other teams but it doesn't get near us.

It doesn't matter whether it goes way back or not. What matters is that it's the fans doing their own thing, rather than being coached and spoon-fed by the PA announcer.
