I believe that it was the Royal College of Nursing who wanted to make entrance to the profession more difficult resulting in hundreds of people who had the right aptitude to be a nurse missing out whilst those people that were good at passing exams but weren't that interested in looking after sick people getting through the door.

Those who fully pay into the system usually use all those contributions up within ten years.

So, this sense of entitlement is misplaced. However, of course I do fully support our pension system and I'm proud of the fact that it's one of the best in the world.
