Still seems to be there. This advert is (obviously) a scam but I know people can still be caught out with it.
Once your details are given you are charged hundreds over a year without any warning. There is also no iPhone. Do not click on this.
Don't want fellow fans to lose out.

Believe that one reason is a browser setting to 'forget browsing data' at the end of every session. Can be handy if you don't want people viewing your browsing history. Not that I would mind anyone seeing my browsing history, of course.

For the people who are getting the popup all the time...

I've created this page [Link] to try and help diagnose the issue.

If you can try the following steps:

1) close your web browser
2) re-open your web browser
3) visit the Holmesdale Online (https://www.holmesdale.net)
4) choose your ad preferences when the popup appears, and confirm to close it.
5) visit the page I've just created at [Link]
6) record what it says
7) close the current tab (or close down the whole browser)
8) visit the new page again [Link]
9) record what it says

If everything is working as expected you should get back:

"You have confirmed your ad preferences" twice.

If you get back "You have confirmed your ad preferences" the first time, but not the second time, then there must be something configured on your system which is clearing cookies between web sessions - perhaps an Ad blocker, or anti-virus browser plugin.

The other thing to try, is :

1) log out of this website
2) log back in, but make sure you tick the 'remember me?' box
3) close your tab/browser window
4) re-visit this website
5) check whether you are still logged in.

The process of remembering your logged in, is much the same as the ad consent stuff, so would be interesting to know whether this remembers you or not.
