It's not the woman being posh (necessarily), it's that she wants the experience of being pampered and in good company. On the plus side, you can sit next to your partner and not have to talk for 3 hours (minus 30 mins interval) You are not likely to get any direct bonus points, but once she tells her mates she has been to the ballaaay,....you'll be quids-in

We spent the without-the-kids holiday budget on a few days in St Petersburg a few weeks ago and took in the Kirov Ballet whilst there. I don't mind going out suited and booted but admit that I wasn't exactly hyped about the ballet. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would...it was a proper spectacle of skill and theatre. And it didn't need subtitles.
