Billy Joe Saunders v Martin Murray

Tom-the-eagle Flag Croydon 03 Jun 18 7.20pm

Now cancelled/prosponed for a second time.

Have tickets for this, originally meant for April and then after a BJS injury rescheduled for 23rd of June but today been called off after another Saunders injury.

Gutted.

Word is that Warren/Saunders are holding off to try to get a super fight with GGG however in boxing you often never know the truth.
Feel sorry for Murray though.

Saw this earlier and was not surprised in the slightest.

Annoying if you were going.
I’d expect Murray will be compensated if they bypass him and get a GGG fight. Saunders and Murray get on well apparently
All about the money I’m afraid, suppose Saunders can’t risk a serious injury and will miss out on the big fight.

Triple G will beat Saunders up,

He'll so wish he hadn't taken him on should the fight happen.

Not so sure he would.

Beat him most probably but beat him up unlikely.

BJS is a fantastic defensive fighter who would most likely stay on the back foot and box at range.

I hear that Warren is going to talk about this today.

Warren has too many shows being cancelled compared to Hearn.

Saunders is a clever fighter, but I think that the pressure GGG would put him under would be too much for him. Difficult to fight a good defensive fight when the other boxer is o you like a rash, cutting off the ring and you know that he can take you out with a single shot.
Also think that GGG would feel Saunders power and then be happy to walk through his punches. Like he did with Brook.
I’d like to see the fight, but think it would be the longest 36 minutes of Saunders life , if he sees all 36.

Couldn't agree more casual.
Triple G is a nasty piece of work.

Saunders would be better off getting a rematch with Chris Eubank jr.

Triple G is a devastating boxer, I just can't make a case for anyone let alone BJS to beat him.

I think there'll be a few hundred thousand reasons why he won't.

Why would he want a rematch with someone he's already beaten? It would be the other way around, and Eubank's stock has fallen further since.

I would say three years ago I'd agree.

But his foot speed has reduced and he isn't so good at closing down the fastest now.

I saw the Jacobs fight and while it was close enough for me to have no issues with the result...I had 3G by a round.....If Jacobs had won that by a round I wouldn't have complained that much either.....even a draw was reasonable.

I had him beating Saul C as well....but again, only by a couple of rounds.
