People like this are going to be worse off now, why don’t they speak out about that?

Why is that?

TBF, at the moment, council have said it will be stored to save it from being damaged. Not sure this is the correct action, if it is damaged lock the instigators up

The Police are there to protect public property. As simple as that. And I am sure plenty of people would have voluntarily agreed to mount vigils to warn off any potential attackers. This is Bournemouth FFS, not the Bronx.

If our Police force cannot protect a statue there then we are truly f***ed.

I agree although TBF you can’t 24/7 a statue with Police, but a camera can. If the perpetrators know that the outcome is going to be penal and not a hand slap then perhaps they will think twice.

The problem with phone callers is there is no verification of what they have said is true. She might be telling the truth in which case I feel sorry for her or she might actually be an activist pushing an agenda.

When Corbyn was standing for the leadership election Momentum had supporters monitoring the major phone-ins. As soon as his name came up they were instructed to call in and claim to be an ordinary member of the public who wasn't interested in politics but had just heard about this Corbyn guy and thought he was great.

Nick Ferrari for one suspected some of these callers "I'm just Mr Joe Average Working Man" and so would deliberately wind them up. Once they lost their tempers these callers then displayed an impressive understanding of internal Labour Party politics names and dates etc.

I'm sure the other parties and single issue campaigners do the same just mention Trans issues and the phone lines are on meltdown.

So to me her story whilst interesting has no probative value.

Pulling down statues, attacking police, attacking historical figures, defacing public property etc.

Those who suffer such discrimination such as threatening to call the police on a 14 year old for playing football are going to feel the consequences of what is now being seen by many as an attack on British culture. If they were like that before, what will they be like now?

This whole thing is causing greater division that has to be the case now.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

You can at the moment. Or ask outside groups to guard it. Scouting itself could no doubt manage it. There would be plenty of people willing to do so.

But my wider point remains. This is Bournemouth. If we are surrendering public spaces in affluent towns on the South Coast to this Progressive Left filth then what the f*** does it say about us as a society? Why pay tax for law and order.

No disagreement here, just considering the practicalities.

No-one they interviewed wanted it removed. It was erected to commemorate 100 years of Scouting. I knew nothing about his facist sympathising or his claimed support of Hitler. However as he died in Jan 1941 and it was not until late 1941 that the mass transportation of Jews was authorised by Hitler, maybe he would have changed his views.
Apparently he was homophobic but was homosexuality not illegal during his lifetime?
He was racist, why? Because he was fighting in Africa? Admittedly his behaviour at times left a lot to be desired but surely that is not what this is all about?

On of my neighbours growing up repeatedly called the Police and council over playing football on a green ourside my house when I was in primary school.

It wasn't discrimination. He was just a c***.
