Personally I would not mind Solanke on a season long loan deal.....

Totally agree, worth loads more than £18 m and is a player we should be keeping anyway

In total agreement and if the reports are true that the discussions have started at £18M then IMO far too low and smacks of needing to sell. Doesn't send the right message to the other players as to our intentions and ambitions for this season. Important player for us.

Think 18m is a good starting price considering what we paid for him. When Andros is good he's good but the season before last he was pants most of the time. If we get 20m then its a result if we have a replacement lined up. Just my opinion though

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong

Not really because the £13mil was too cheap as it was a mistake by Newcastle. It was a release clause signed 5 months before relegation and the tv money rocketed.

It all depends on what Roy wants, if we play narrow like we finished last season Townsend can only play up top with Wilf, then his 14 starts with no goals and three assists might not be good enough, Its up to Roy as long as it is his decision its ok with me, but he needs to say if its not.

Fair point Rudi but around 20 mil would still be a good profit if a suitable replacement has been lined up. Would trust Roy's judgement on this one myself. Still think AT is too inconsistent but appreciate the shift he put in in the latter half of last season. Not irreplaceable though

Agree but in these times it’s too cheap.

He can easily be replaced, he isn’t a goal scorer has only 5 goals in 72 appearances for us, not a great return for an attacking player. His prices was inflated as he scored 4 in 13 for Newcastle, before he left. Steady player, but by no means irreplaceable.

Isn't a goalscorer but provided the most assists in the team (and those are just as important as goals, but nobody seems to count them).

So easy to replace? Hmm.....

I am of the opinion that player's agents feed the press these stories to unsettle players, or to create a bidding war.
He's under contract. In Parish we trust

Would need to be around the £30m mark imo with a proper replacement of Roys picking lined up.

Personally I think it’ll be £10m plus Mitrovic.

Roy rates and what’s him and he’ll only want to come if he’s being considered a XI starter. Newcastle want to off load him.

Him playing alongside Wilf should be decent. Just hope we invest in a young back up as well.

I honestly don't think roy will replace like for like. Fulham mate of mine says he likes to play central midfield type players on left and right and they forever cut in. James McArthur prime example, being deployed out wide on a few occasions.

We'll have pacey full backs who will be expected to do the speedy part on the wings, playing one twos with the likes of McArthur, and Wilf will now probably be a striker from now on. At least whilst Roy is in charge.
