Slim pickings. Probably the three we are negotiating with are among the best. Ki from Swansea, Ireland Stoke , if fit, could be squaddies

Personally I wouldn’t mind us having a punt at Emre Can seeing he’s being released. He’s obviously a good player but not sure what his wages are at Liverpool.

Think he is off to Juve.

I was surprised to see Cabaye and Ward on our list.

Nonesense paper. If it’s true, Only reason Yohan and wardy will go is that they have chosen not to sign and found other clubs for whatever reason as the club made it clear they wanted to keep both. Can only imagine that Sako wanted high wages again or I’m sure we’d have kept him - or he’s found a club that are offering first team football at a decent level. Ward would have been backup at best but I’m sad to see him go. Yohans legs are going so I don’t blame him going for one last big payday. He’s had his critics (from people that think you have to score goals to contribute) but he’s been fantastic and I worry about how we’ll replace him. We always look better with him in the team. Hope this is wrong and they both stay.

Can? Seriously? His transfer saga to juve has been well documented and there was never a chance of us signing him let alone “taking a punt in him”. I love our midfield but this guy would stroll in and replace any of them in the same position.

He's off to Juventus isn't he. Definitely a big foreign club

We’ve offered Ward and Cabaye a new contract so it’s not that they’ve gone YET. They just haven’t yet agreed one way of the other.

I wonder if Ward doesn't sign the new contract if we will look at Jon Flanagan who has been released by Liverpool? I am making assumption that AWB will be first choice in absence of Ward so we are looking for a bench player. Flanagan has shown he was EPL quality in the past. He may not be a headline signing but is only 25, has something to prove and and may be a cheap solution allowing money to be spent elsewhere

Liverpool effectively got rid of him for beating his Mrs, not sure he's the type we would want at the club
