Yeah but I think ‘God Lite’ later on in the Bible (New Testament) was a bit more touchy-feely.

Is that why the Catholic Church have got into so much trouble?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I assume/hope that the OP is discussing this as you would characters in a novel. There is obviously no God or Devil in the Biblical sense.
Both characters have evolved over many generations and became fixed, I suppose, at the point that the masses had access to books.
Since both are figments of imagination, they both represent aspects of human the psyche.

No need to hope. Your assumption is correct.

To be blunt yes. Each religion has its own doctrine and good and bad messages.
Equally, so do the fairy tales of The brothers Grimm.

Obviously.

That's not to say that some of their texts can't be used as part of a greater understanding but the God bits are a crock.

I have deep interest in this subject.

The church of satan is atheism with a floor show. The black mass is a mock of catholic ritual.

Certainly some true devil worshippers exist - whether or not its the story of the devil being the good guy and god being the tyrant is up to interpretation and im sure some cut witch hazel at dawn while boiling a cats skull.

There are some interesting occult texts from the renaissance that are worth a read - namely, one of the more diabolical texts: The Grand Grimoire. Allegedly details the summoning of a being called Lucifuge Rofocale, hell's interloctur.

I think the devil, satan or lucifer is only mentioned in the bible 4-5 times? Lucifer is often miscontrued as its meant to speak of a Babylonian King.

I'm apatheistic so this is mostly just a fun anthropoligical study but the differences of denominations christianity and devil worship are always a good read.

For instance, i would assume someone from the orthodox church is much more well read on actual christian doctrine than a catholic.

I tried to set up a coven on Blackheath Common unfortunately we couldn't find any virgins in Lewisham.
