Not actually that bad an idea. Swansea v Cardiff have been doing for years. If you're an away fan going to the game you MUST travel on supporters coaches. The coaches are escorted along the motorway by plod then back again after the game.

Anyone who turns up with a match ticket but didn't travel on the official supporters coaches isn't allowed in.

Pretty effective if you ask me.

Yes, I would have thought that those that were kettled last season would have appreciated this option. It also means that you get away from the ground. I remember being at Hull a couple of seasons back and drove there. Got the park and ride in, which was great for arriving. After the game though the traffic was at standstill and it took ages for the buses to arrive. Transpired that it was because the traffic had been held to allow the Palace buses to get away. Not sure if I was happy or p**sed off about that

Since it's a midweek match they could stagger the coaches departure times for every 15 minutes between 16:30 and 18:00.

But for any fans living in enemy territory it's a total pain in the bollocks.

Wouldn't the majority of supporters be coming from work?

Probably but people also work in enemy territory too, not to mention those who have retired to the coast.

Always seem to have Man City away right on top of Christmas.

We need to find a work around, maybe lay on a coach or two from Brighton Central and/or Hove.

Agreed.. It would be a pain in the arse for some. I've seen it work very effectively for South Wales Police with the Cardiff v Swansea games. They've had hardly any problems on match day for some years now... obviously if they decide to meet up And fight later that night that can't be avoided but for match day itself it's been very good.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Yep, or just do a final pick up point at the end of the A23.

That's so they get an early Christmas present. Mind you we played them in September last season didn't we?
