And of course the draw wasn't fixed was it? It was obviously very fortunate for the Russians that they had Saudi Arabia and Egypt for their first two games.

Ronaldo is the biggest cheat of all. He's dived twice in the box in as many minutes agaist Morocco. Pity the ref didn't send the arrogant sob off.

They seem to be so pleased with themselves that they get the right decision through VAR (penalty or no penalty) that they seem to have forgotten about bookings for simulation

Its obviously down to the ref, if you watched the Germany Mexico game, you would have seen Germany flopping at every opportunity and the ref just glaring at them and telling them to get up. One of the reasons Germany lost. I forget what country the ref was from, but he let the game flow and we all (except the Germans) benefited from it.

yet again cheating Portugal players, tapped on the shoulder went down like he had been shot,should be banned for the rest of the world cup,its one thing to dive to get a pen,but trying to get a player sent off by cheating is the worse crime ever to comment in any sport, Edited by michaelpearce (21 Jun 2018 9.12am)

Senegal's second goal scorer, allowed in by officials not having a clue should be banned for 25 games rather then allowed to celebrate a decisive goal. I just saw this on the BBC website Mexico v South Korea match: “Absolute scourge on this World Cup is players lying on the ground, feigning injury, so that the opposition have to kick the ball out! Seems to happen 3+ times every match” It really is truly appalling. Why is it acceptable?! Why? It is so infuriating. It really is no wonder the USA can’t get it into true mainstream. As an American friend of mine stated “...when they stop rolling around like they have a hot tar vest on to them miraculously recover, then it will gain respect.”

The time doesn't compare to the TV timeouts, various penalties or repetitive actions of US sports. Perhaps they could spend more time watching matches rather than drinking weak beer, watching pointless shows and eating fried food out of their car boots. Then maybe baseball and NFL would take off over here.
