Agreed, not sure why people rate him.

Loan with buy option maybe to test his fitness and quality. But no way we should buy him straight off the bat.

People rate him because, as a 22 year old, he was involved in 17 of Burnley's 28 goals in 2014/15. Since which he has basically been injured or getting little match time at a top club

I like the loan-to-buy option if the purchase price is decided beforehand (unlikely) Otherwise he is either a bust e.g. Bamford or a success we end up facing a very high cost to purchase e.g. Sakho

Those 3 goals last season made all the difference ?

£27 million for 20 goals...that’s what just over a million a goal great value...Danny Ings would be a similar bargain ?

Wow I didn’t know he was so prolific at Burnley.

Im hugely assuming here so correct me if I’m wrong. But was he playing a big man up top roll for Burnley that season? If so that doesn’t fit our style or Liverpool’s so might be part the reason they want to move him on?

But if that’s wrong then yeah loan with buy option would be a good idea.

You've obviously got a very short memory if you don't remember Benteke's contribution to the previous season

He usually (27 times) started with Ashley Barnes
Sam Vokes often came on as sub

If we bought him, the natural position would be slightly behind a bigger striker - of which we currently have three to choose from

Oh well that is interesting then.

Maybe we’ll do annual summer business with them after all..

Mind i’d still totally say we should opt for loan with buy clause only.

He is a classy striker with nifty footwork. Plays like dougie did in his prime but with a bit more pace.

I don'see how 11 goals and 6 assists in 3100 minutes played makes a center forward prolific

That's like something done every 200 minutes on average, which is pretty mediocre for a center forward.

That translates to 17 goals - including assists - over a 38 game season - not too shabby

We should stop buying Liverpool cast offs and try and find someone who isn't so injury prone we already have sick note Wickham we don't need another to join him in the treatment room

walking down the holmesdale road to see the palace aces!

Yeah, I'm not saying we should buy him, just that his record is pretty good when fit.
