I'm going away to Vegas soon and I ordered travel money online, as I always do, it then gets sent a few days later via recorded delivery from Royal Mail that needs a signature.

I was at work all day Thursday and came home to the two envelopes of recorded delivery travel money put through the letter box and the Royal Mail postie had not only clearly forged my signature but I have it on CCTV that he has.

On the one hand, yes it could be argued he's done me a favour as I don't have to go to the pick up office. However, I'm a bit annoyed he's forged my signature and if I was malicious I probably could have claimed I hadn't even received the money to the travel money company and got another load sent out using the CCTV and forged signature.

Should I let it go or do you think it's worth letting Royal Mail know?

I don't particularly want anyone to lose their job but the whole point of secure recorded delivery is that you sign for it and can track it's whereabouts.

Happens to me all of the time. Postie is trying to do me a favour and I’d know full well the moment he’s trying things the other way round. But he hasn’t.

If you chase this up you’ll lose him his job.

He's done you a favour. If he'd taken the correct action and returned the package to the sorting office you would be moaning that he should have used a bit of initiative

If you think the guy is a good bloke and he sounds like it then mention to him that he was on CCTV not to tell him off but to warn him that another householder might have cost him his job. Otherwise I would let it go.

Or show the postman the CCTV and tell him that he will be paying for your prostitutes and gambling when you are out there. Nice bit of blackmail.

Maybe he has done you a favour but he probably didn't suspect there was money in the envelopes, there is always a chance he might forge someonelses sig and pocket their pension or something.

Touch my coffee and I will slap you so hard even Google won't be able to find you.
