Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Well, how about elaborating on your comment of: 'You can generally judge someone on the type of people they piss off and The Donald has done an absolutely magnificent job in this case.'

On what criteria are you in this instance 'generally judging someone'?

Have to say that I agree completely with audience member from last Thursday's Question Time:

'I can't stand Donald Trump but I think that he can be fully trusted. For every sexist, racist, moronic thing he says that he is going to do, he delivers on' (followed by rapturous applause and nodding agreement from both Conservative & Labour Party reps)

[Link]

I refer to ethics and values as they are evidently in short supply with Trump..and admittedly throughout a great deal of our Government's work (albeit encouraged by a pathetically weak, dysfunctional Opposition).

Like many another poster, more than happy to be proven wrong and have my opinion changed but with responses carried with factual substance rather than one sentenced ribaldry.

It doesn't need elaborating. I thought I was abundantly clear. And the criteria have already been established.

I'll take Trump, with all his problems and lies.

I'll take Trump over the people he annoys every day of the week.

Ethics and values my foot.....arbitrary and tribal more like.

The thing is if you allow people in power like Trump to waffle and spin just because they are words you want to hear, that will become the norm, when it comes to justifying invading other countries for example, he won't care what the public think, just paint them as the enemy and create that air of division.

Also his trade tarrifs are really hurting the UK, especially steel so don't think he's our friend

There aren't too many British companies producing steel these days.

Still a big revenue stream regardless of the parent company being Indian, Australian or whatever. Also a large employer of UK nationals.
