Hazard and Sane fit into the "proven world class" category. Mahrez is more comparable but, as Rudi points out, he was a key component of a title-winning team. This is my point. At the age of 27, Wilf is seen as a bit of an underachiever by those outside of our club. AWB can get a move at 21, as Wilf did, because coaches want to get them early and mould them. By 27, they want the finished article.

That really isn't the case. Hazard moved at 28, Mahrez at 27, for example. In fact, if Liverpool still look like pushing City in the league come the January window and Sane is no longer in Guardiola's plans I can see him moving to the Etihad.

All speculation but if Raiola took over as Wilfs agent, that would be an interesting January. The guys clearly very good at his job and I can only see SP being completely out of his league dealing with him.

But if he is so good at his job and with his main intention being a 'big move' for Wilf then he'll have to make sure Palace and SP are satisfied. The move will only happen when all parties are happy just as we saw proof of in August.

He clearly wants out and itís a question of when rather than if, and also whether it will be a smooth parting of the ways.
In the absence of an exit clause it could get messy.
I recall players such as Mahrez and Van Dyk Ďplaying upí to force moves.
I imagine his new agent when appointed will be hawking him around clubs with a view to earning his cut of the fee.
Parish can say all he likes that Zaha has a long term contract, but keeping an unhappy player is not sustainable in this day and age.
An unmotivated, petulant Zaha has a negative influence on the team spirit which is very important to a club like Palace.
I hope we donít regret not moving him in the summer.
I also hope we are lining up a replacement now.

A little bit like his international choice.
Maybe that's in his head.
Two bad choices now.
5 year contract and impatience.

Why was getting dissed by a chaotic England team in transition and instead choosing playing for his native country a bad choice?

I wonder if the rumors about Drogba having a word with him about representing/inspiring a nation instead of being treated like an "if we feel like it we'll let you know" are true.

If the rumours are true then he didn't exactly endear himself to the England hierachy with his behaviour/attitude whilst representing the England U21 side.

Genuine question: What is it about "a club like Everton" and "a city like Liverpool" that "guarantees" that Wilf would be a flop if he went there?

_____________________________________________________________As a club Everton are only slightly better than Palace on account of having a bigger budget. As for the City, Wilf is a London boy who could not settle in Manchester, he has said he would like to be closer to his family, I do not think he can settle well in Liverpool. he should also look at the case of Yannick Bolasie who was great at Palace but was a big flop at Everton.

He wasnít / isnít good enough to be a starter for England.
He chose the Ivory Coast and arsenal (who he has always supported apparently), decided that he want even the best winger for a two bob country like them.
Got to laugh.

Good post , all correct.
Not even a good player for us at the moment, will struggle to get 40 million for him, take what we are offered and buy someone interested.
