Yes , but that still means we didnít release him and attempted to keep him at the club.

I doubt if the new Chelsea manager has seen Wilf play live, and if he goes along with his Board's wishes by making a bid then Chelsea will not be "his team". I think he has bigger things on his plate at the moment - keeping Hazzard and Willian for a start. I think the mid-season window is much more likely.

My point was if we were / or have been thinking of selling Wilf 'maybe' letting Sako go was a bit hasty, or not if we know Wilf is staying ...

Sako is probably a bit deluded regarding how much a player on the bench doing nothing should be paid after a few years of receiving £60k for virtually nothing. It was the right decision.

Don't disagree but he was proving more than useful before that final injury last season.

High propensity to be injured and therefore the right call. Heís still a free agent!

I think itís safe to say heís going nowhere , itís far to late in the window to sell now , we would be mad to.

I'm hoping Wilf stays for one more full season, see where we go with the new additions. Another great season & in 12 months his worth increases again & would still be under contract, hoping that a last minute 70/75 mill bid from Chelsea don't rock the boat though

Hope you're right. My gut is that he'll leave in January window after he's helped accumulate the necessary points on the board this side of Xmas. Then a title chaser will pay £70 million + and we have enough time to scout a replacement/s in prep for a full season without him next season. Wilf could then still end up with a trophy at the end of this season (depending where he goes) and we're not exposed for 1st part of the season. To my mind, if he does want to leave that's the best compromise for everyone ...

From the start I DONíT Want Wilf to goÖ.but for me the perfect scenario for all concerned would be as follows:

ē Wilf plays a blinder for us all season taking us into the top 8 pushing his value to £100m+ in the process
ē Chelski / Real / Man C make an approach offering £75m+ CASH plus player and 15-20% sell on clause (bear in mind we reputedly still have a 20% sell on clause to reimburse man U from when he came back)
ē The player we get in part ex is the likes of RLC/Foden/Barkley (i.e. young, talented and English)
ē Finishing as high as 8th weíre able to attract better players as a consequence minimising the loss of Wilf

Only with the above would I feel comfortable with him going and us as a club being able to not only survive, but move on. We need to not be so reliant on one playerÖ..even though he is ONE HELL OF A PLAYER!
