The success of Aldi and Lidl suggests they actually care a lot more about the price.

and why's that? Cost of living crisis means low cost retailers thrive

If there was better wage equality and wealth gap maybe we would be able to make more conscious food choices

That would hold true if the clientele of those shops consisted entirely of those who had just enough money to avoid a food bank. In reality all income levels have demonstrated with their feet that none of them are averse to a bargain.

When I was a lad being gay meant being happy and we were too busy playing rugby or cricket or smoking to worry too much about which way others might have swung

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Indeed. And I know I will get pilloried, but I believe there is a large degree of ‘supply generates demand’ where food banks are concerned.

My natural inclination is not to pillory the poorest when there are much more deserving targets.

I've just noticed you're now a mod, Dave. Is this a recent appointment?

So this guy Tom heap who wants to scare kids to not eating meat is in fact a vegetarian!!
He essentially is using his position of direct and presenter of country file to brain wash out kids with our TV licence money. Disgusting if you ask me! People should not be able to thrust their opinion on people through public paid media.

Surely criticism shouldn't be class based?

This is said with the recognition that the wealthy can abuse the system far more effectively than the poorest as they can afford the educated 'criminals' to do it for them.

Doesn't the BBC news do this everyday of the week? I object to my licence fee going towards programmes like Eastenders and mega salaries for Paxman/Lineker and the like but I have to accept it.

He was interviewed and gave his views. A massive jump from that to brainwashing kids!

Not sure how he is thrusting his opinion on people either. I had never heard of him before someone posted a link on here.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
