There's no shame here, that's a silly concept the left have taken from the religious.

If you only intended your response to apply to the racism question and not spill over into the free speech one then yep.....I take back the disingenuous comment.

You really are a menatalist.

The fact this is even a thread is a fcuked up. Who gives a sh*te if there are black, brown, pink, blue faces on the march. Trump is a c**t who uses this language of division to get votes. But, let's be frank here, softy bullsh*t liberals gave birth to Trump as their political correctness bollox meant people protested in the ballot box, fearing legitimate debate would be yelled down as racist. We did the same with brexit.

One of the best posts on this thread. The rise in open racism and separatist views is frankly terrifying and crazy in equal measures. As is all this far right and far left bollocks. Can’t we just go back to how things were 5 or so years ago before all this s***e started to surface!?

'Dump Trump': Views from the London marches - [Link]

You mean because the one on one photos are majority white? Blow up the big one and it looks diverse. Not that it is in the slightest bit relevant. It’s an odd point to have focused on from the off and says more about your mindset than anything else.

I wasn't referring to race. My point was focused upon your free speech before social media claim. On which you were inaccurate.

Still, your allusion to Trump is worth a chuckle I suppose.

Odd?

It's stating the blindingly obvious fact that far left activists are white.....as the Chinese famously note.

London is what, around about 45 to 40 white now. Yet it's about 80 percent white on these marches I'd say.

The majorities in non white communities only vote left because they perceive it's in their best interests....and for some of them it is. Many of them are majority socially conservative.

I don't know why people seem to think there is or ever was freedom of speech in the UK. There was never free speech. Things considered 'lewd', 'pornographic', likely to 'cause offence' or publications that breech the Official Secrets Act, as determined by the authorities of the day, have always been subject to censorship and could lead to prosecution. Spycatcher and Lady Chatterley's Lover spring to mind.
Freedom of Speech is a US thing that often gets abused by people such as the West Coast Baptist Church. It is in their Constitution.

'Free speech' isn't literal.

However, it was set as low as possible.

Incitement to violence
Provable slander
Obscenity

Blair changed this and the 'hate speech' nonsense started. A law that contradicts in many ways existing freedom laws and becomes entirely about 'random perception' The modern day conservatives have betrayed their traditions in continuing this complete mess.

I suppose this is understandable though. Do you really want radical people of any persuasion marching down the street with whatever banners and slogans they deem fit? Every day there would be a march, rally and riot - whether the banners or slogans were offensive or not. Everyone so ready to be offended today.

So what's your thought on selective recruitment for the met, does it not matter if they are pink yellow brown or white?
Somehow I think I know the answer!!

The people in charge today aren't 'radical' then?

The feminists and restricters of rights were allowed to take power.....and like all authoritarians they look to cement their ideas and do away with the 'marketplace of ideas' that allowed for their own rise.

The Americans have a written constitution that stops this from happening.

We have been made to look stupid by our own colonists.

As I said, I wouldn't really want the US version of free speech where radical right wing or left wing, or single issue protesters can provoke people they perceive as incorrect in some way with impunity.
In the UK that would mean radicals, including Islamists, anti-islam protestors, fascists, communists or whoever could march with whatever banners they see fit. As you can imagine, trouble would inevitably ensue.
I'm fairly sure I understand what you mean when you suggest the people in charge are radical. I would see governments as popularist rather than radical. May's government certainly not radical enough for some people sometimes: ie Brexit, yet too radical for some at other times: ie Brexit, although this would not be the only divisive issue, of course.
