I don’t understand your point? Not being facetious.

That the BBC have used two very different headlines for the same story. One headline being more sensationalized than the other.

But it’s not the same story? It’s two different countries, two difference economic situations.

Should every football match that results in a 1-0 win for the home team have an identical headline?

Even taking that aside, which one is the more sensationalised? Do you mean because it refers to 2012?

What’s the opposite of economic growth? What term do you use?

Shrinks

No, an economy can shrink but growth cannot shrink.

Economic growth can be positive or negative; this is how it’s always been recorded - you are now blaming the BBC because you don’t understand this.

I’m not signed up so can’t read it, but the headline refers to an economy shrinking, which I already acknowledged in my post.

Growth cannot shrink - it can be positive or negative.

Your standard of debate is quite literally pumping words into google to try and find any article from around the world that might defend your incorrect position.

I’ve never come across someone describing a slow in growth as a shrink in growth, until the article from the financial powerhouse EuroNews - thanks for sharing.

Back to the point; the phrase ‘negative growth’ is commonplace in economics and is not the same as a shrinking economy - you took issue with the BBC using it because you didn’t understand it... you will continue to defend your incorrect position, I’m sure.

Let me try one more time;

An economy can shrink, but growth cannot - they are not the same thing. Just because a sentence has the word ‘shrink’ in it, it does not support your point.

You are criticising the BBC for your own ignorance, and now seemingly have lost the ability to read.
