the BBC is but one media outlet. Their neutrality is compromised by the commercialism of our society.

Media seeks to divide opinion into categories, and thus suppress individual thought. Part of the bigger scheme of politics.

It has over-run by 35 years, but we are now living in the world George Orwell envisaged in his book of '1984'.

Everyone's source of information seeks to divide individual thought into manageable groupings.

Guardian readers are no more informed than Sun readers. Guardian readers are just indoctrinated to a (marginally) higher level, because their vocabulary is a bit bigger. And so is their wage packet

another example of 'lowest common denominator' press coverage.

I want to be better informed about Yemen and the UK arms deals with the Saudis.
HS2 is a complete farce and will never happen. Will anyone be held accountable for spuffing £millions ?

some sportsman died and there's some stuff about Love Island and Eastenders.

The luvvies are still in meltdown over the cancellation of Victoria Derbyshire show.

The gist of their complaints seem to be that you can't cancel a show that is led by an award winning journalist and is staff mainly by women. After blaming the BBC naturally the Tories come in for some stick as really it's all their fault.

I simply do not get why the BBC and their staff have gone into meltdown over this. The show had poor rating and equivalent shows on other channels are pulling 4/5 times their numbers.

This is the not death of current affairs at the beeb they have plenty of other shows on TV, a 24 hour current affairs channel, radio and the web. The reason this show was cancelled was simple it was very expensive to make and no one was watching it.

That doesn't mean that a current affairs show cannot work or that Victoria Derbyshire cannot host a successful TV just that this format in this time slot over 5 years has not worked.

The makers of the show have had 5 years to get it right and they haven't, on commercial TV they would have cancelled it after one season or even sooner.

Cancelling this show is not an attack on the BBC or even women at the BBC it is what it is. These people need to grow up telly is a ruthless business and even at the taxpayer funded BBC you have to justify costs versus viewer numbers.

The BBC staff still seem to think that they decicde what is good for the public to watch whether the public knows it or not. Hopefully this is a wake up call the public through streaming and online decide what they want to watch and when.

Bring back Jeremy Kyle.
A neighbour of mine nearly ran the c-unit over last week when Kyle stepped out in front the car he was driving. If only he had done the deed and got it on dash-cam. Now that would really be a ratings winner.

And then the Witch Doctor.

In this African incantation of the Dr his assistants will be subject to feministic voodoo and become mindless brainwashed drones repeating the same endless mantas.

In other words the assistant roles will be played by the writers.

I maintain that Jodie Whitaker is not the first female doctor surely she transitioned from a man.

The BBC loves to double down doesn't it. The current show is limping along in the rainbow Tardis so rather than dial back on the "woke" as people are losing interesti they dial up it a notch which is typically lefty thinking. They're right but because you don't agree with them they just shout louder to make you understand you are wrong.

It's an expensive show to make due to the sets and special effects how long before the bean counters point out that the pounds spent per viewing figures are not worth it.

It never used to be expensive to make but the BBC don't seem to understand that a show needs more than great special effects and CGI to be good.

I didn't comment on the rest of your post as the BBC's latest stunt is too ridiculous to bother commenting on

The recent 'adaptation' of 'War of the Worlds' is a prime example of that. It looked good, some incredible special effects and yet they tinkered with the story to make it more 'work' to such an extent that they rendered it beyond parody. And this was one of the best known stories in the English speaking world. Why f*** with that?

Story trumps all. People would do well to go back to the 'I Claudius' drama from the 70's. The sets were laughable, absolutely zero special effects and yet it was and remains an incredible piece of storytelling.

Personally I still tend to think the BBC does more good than bad (and the margins are shrinking) and that the licence fee is still good value but it has lost its way.

You can't even parody the 'woke' crowd can you.....They manage it all themselves.
