It's not just the BBC and it's not just left wing bias. For a fair while now many shows have become unbearable to watch due to them constantly talking politics when the viewer is after some light relief instead. HIGNFY at least makes clear that news is the main subject and shows some degree of balance, but things like The Last Leg and some of the US late night shows have drifted so far from their purpose that it's ridiculous. Not even gone near the mash report as it's those type of shows on steroids. And I like Nish Kumar.

Israel is the other media bias that doesn't just include the BBC... Hundreds of rockets have been fired into civilian areas of Israel each day from the Gaza Strip by terrorist group Hamas, yet the media totally ignores this and only reports it when Israel fight back. And of course, it's always in an out-of-proportion way. The media does not care about Jews being killed in Israel and this type of leftist anti-Semitism is ignored.

HIGNFY, like Private Eye, used to be a kind of bastion against establishment cant and hypocrisy but I've noticed that, over the last couple of years, there's been an obvious drift towards peddling what are plainly establishment views, most notably that anyone who voted for Brexit is either mad or stupid. Disappointed in them both. Oh, and Nish Kumar is simply dreadful.

We have little doubt as to their real attitudes but the current ridiculous speech laws on anything Jewish restrict them. The Israeli-Palestinian crises is a bit like the India pakistan separation....differing only in time scale. It's a tragedy. There will be no negotiated separation here though, only a massacre of one or the other. For me when you have to chose between the pro western Israel and anti western Hamas, it's no choice at all. However no one celebrates the death of innocents and that will be the majority. Whether a basically European democratic state is tenable in the middle east long term however...say 100 years is questionable. If I had to bet upon Israel still existing after that time....it's fifty fifty. Identity means they will never be accepted. ....Sorry, I've just realised I've expanded upon a topic rather than keeping it to BBC stories....Apologies. Edited by Stirlingsays (14 Nov 2018 12.03pm)
