A consultation via direct mail, business reply envelope with bar coded validation and auto data extraction from a well designed reply form to get the result would cost in the region of £5K. Looking to mail only those Season ticket holders affected by seat position - not all the ST holders as moving seats doesn't affect them and these could skew the true results.

Very difficult to forge results as what goes out validates against what comes back. Could do it via a web page but that cuts out those who don't use the web so wouldn't be treating each supporter fairly.

if you don't reply then you are obviously not that bothered.

Set a 30 day reply window and you would have your result for this option. Over 50% and the majority carries. Less than 50% and option binned.

Parish could surely get someone at TAG or Oliver Marketing to put together a decent mail pack for the supporters consultation proposal.

Start now and you would have your answer before xmas.

I think it is important that all interested parties are consulted and that means all season ticket holders.
This will not skew results as it gives the view of all who could be impacted.

As you say it would have to be done by direct mail and include validation.

I think cost would be higher and in the region of 25k but if that can end the discussion one way or another then that is money well spent.

Clearly if a majority of fan's responses say no that has to be the end of it. There is always a problem with people not returning forms but the number of responses need to be representative of the supporters. Professional companies who carry out these type of surveys would advise on what response percentage is meaningful. Maybe an incentive like entry for a draw for a free season ticket for next season would help.

As I said in an earlier response there are 2 questions. One is do you want (or object) to a singing section. The second is do you want to be part of it.

I suspect that the majority will not object to a singing section as people like the atmosphere. However the number who want to be part will be far smaller. It is this number the club need to make plans

but why couldn't the HF stayed where they were and just moved when the new stand was ready?

Can't really expect people to give up their ST's.

the argument for better atmosphere is flawed as they've just moved without having a plan in place so we're now worse off for atmosphere.

Absolutely correct, the HF have created their own problem, they should have stayed where they were until the main stand has been constucted, when I imagine the lower tier of the Holmesdale will be made a safe standing area.
All these crackpot schemes that they are coming up with would involve uprooting fellow supporters from their regular seats, apart from the fact it would be an administrative nightmare anyway.
Forget the loony schemes and sit tight.

I agree.

In the meantime let international supporters offer their support to the HF. Let the atmosphere deteriorate. Let one of our USP’s disappear. Finally, let one of the fundamental aspects of our club for which it is now know disappear.

They are good for our club, our image, our atmosphere and our team.

Prawn sandwich anyone?...

No body forced the HF to break up,and allegedly damage the famous Selhurst Park "atmosphere".
They did that all by themselves.

I think an atmosphere is worth easily a million pounds a year. It probably adds a few points over a season (and with it league placings) and also improves the odds of being on the tellybox. So more ££.

Supposing the club spent a tenth of that on an atmosphere, how would that money best be spent?

Isn't it easy to spend and dismiss other people's money as 'well spent'?.

£25,000 to (possibly or not) make 100 people 'happy'

Prepared to contribute or cover the cost?

So if that were true the HF by flouncing are not only costing the club they are supposed to love money but also league points. IF they have the club at heart they will get back to Block B asap.
