I agree if this article is correct the club have done all they can to facilitate an agreement. They offered the original block and to keep talking as the new stand is built. It is completely unrealistic to expect them to force the move of existing season ticket holders.

Lets not rewrite events. The club did bvgger all apart from mishandle the whole issue.

As per the club statement :

"News of the proposal leaked out and we received a large number of written and verbal objections from supporters in the area that would have been affected. Many of those supporters writing to us pointed out that they had been in their seats since the stand opened and were strongly opposed to what they saw as them being forced out of their seats"

The club felt that it would have been not only disruptive but very unfair to forcibly move long-standing season-ticket holders out of their seats to accomodate the HF, besides this would have generated ill-feeling towards the fanatics.

There’s also been people in centre blocks warming to the idea on the BBS and either prepared to move because they know it’s going to happen at some point anyway or are waiting for an Approach from the club rather than scary rumours leaked over phone calls to the box office.

Do proper research and a consultation at the very least. They’ve done nothing of the sort.

No I will leave that to you.

There is no proof if club mishandled situation. Look at the facts

It is clear that dialogue happened between sides

It is clear club said No can't move you to your requested seats as people don't want to move.

It is also clear that HF were offered original area and declined.

Your complete inability to rationally argue against any alternative view other that the HFs is both revealing and tedious. The longer this drivel goes on the more alienating your 'cause' becomes.

“We wanted to create something that’s bigger than 200 people,” a leading member of the Holmesdale Fanatics tells The Independent. “People were asking to join the section but they couldn’t"

The reality is they couldn't because they weren't wanted. The HF have become elitist and egotistical to point of parody. That is what stops them growing and this stance they (you) are taking now shows you care more about you than the club.

Very difficult to see how it will be fixed any time soon. The HF should take the seats back for now while they work on a solution, the club is clearly willing to talk at this point. They have bent over backwards and kept those seats open selling them on a match by match basis rather than off as season tickets. The HF are showing no willingness to help the club and are instead speaking to newspapers.

Perhaps the club can write to 150 fans in the middle of block E and offer them a half price season ticket for next season, if they accept the proposal to move.

If they tried this and it failed then the HF would have nothing to complain about. The club tried.

I don’t think it’s right to evict a single season ticket holder unless they agree to to move.

Either way it needs to be sorted soon, it’s just a shame the HF are happy to sabotage the atmosphere and impact the club they are meant to be fans of.

It’s difficult to see what other steps the club could have taken when the plans were leaked, and so far I have yet to see a shred of evidence to suggest that this proposed move was actually agreed by the club, it was just discussed.

The fact the club even were willing to have the discussion about it with a fans group is far more than most clubs will do.

No proof that the club mishandled the situation? What, like consulting or just communicating something with the fans, which you incidentally haven’t said they did and therefore mishandled the issue.

This is coming, it’s just a matter of when, but if it’s left too long there’ll be no atmosphere and no added attraction to supporting Palace over 4 or 5 home wins a season. At least everyone can look over and know acquaintances are kept together for some small talk once a fortnight. If everyone’s lucky we’ll be able to overhear the conversations we’ve kept for the loss of atmosphere for good. I may as well find a quiet area of the ground myself. I sat in the empty Arfur until Lloyd’s day and felt the start of something and some passion rumbling in the belly of Palace.

And therein lies what I see as part of the issue. Is it 100 or 200?

Regardless, the same would happen in E block as B block - the 100 or 200 HF would have seats (and not use them), they would stand - forcing all other block E ticket holders to stand - and additional fans (who aren't part of the HF) would radiate towards that block, affecting the other seat holders by crowding into other rows.

There isn't a magic solution, the club appear to have tried to accommodate the block E request, but rightly season ticket holders have exercised their right to say 'no', and then seemingly, rather than the HF saying, 'okay, let's try and work on a solution with the club' have decided to either move or stay away.

If they were a user on here, they'd be rightly labelled as having 'left in a flounce'.

Yawn, waffle, bollox. Read the BBS. The fan opinion spreads further than this page.

There IS a significant conflation in what the HF are saying...they say loads wanted to join AND they couldn't keep the atmosphere going from where they were.

Well, why couldn't the club have facilitated joiners and singers being close to where the HF were, if there were all these applicants? Why did their numeric expansion HAVE to come alomg with the best seats in the Holmesdale, when that path was clearly going to upset many.

To be clear, I do back what the HF wants to achieve. It'll be dire if they fail.

Coulsdoneagle, they’re protesting inaction. That’s what I’ve been saying and what most of both sides on the BBS apart from about 3 t1ts think should happen. Some action, even if it’s just consultation and a result of absolutely not possible. But the club have done nothing.
