This post has been merged from a topic called 'Is it time to issue us with clappers?' by bexleydave Lets face it,we can now no longer live off of our reputation as being the best and loudest in the Premiership.Selhurst Park is no better and probably worse than other grounds now that the Hf have downed tools.Yesterdays atmosphere was again poor and its getting embarrassing listening to the away fans taunting us about where our famous atmosphere has gone.

Performances will help, but it's gonna take time to get things going again. Remember they've been the conductor of our singing section for 13 years and our atmosphere is all centred around that corner. Remove 65% of any teams vocal support and the atmosphere will struggle. Singers now spread and no cohesion, but we should at least be able to get back up to Premier league poor atmosphere standard along with the other 19 clubs in a few weeks.

But we have never, ever, before had singers that carry on for multiple rounds of each song back to back. I do remember Red and Blue Army for 20 minutes at a time for example, but not 90 minutes with a dozen songs and no respite other than during specific big matches. Good examples include the ZDS cup, first FA cup final, Villa Park semi final, the 5-0 against Man Utd in 72 (my feet literally not touching the ground it was so cramped) and my personal favourite of Blackburn in 1989. But let there be no mistake, it wasn't orchestrated, it happened during success and massive games. It wasn't kept up because there was no organisation. It died off as quickly as it came. Not so with the HF. You say I am wrong as if it were fact. I disagree however although my opinion differs from yours I am not arrogant enough to parade my opinions as if they were undisputed truth. While I respect your opinion (everyone's if there's any common sense in it) that's all it is, an opinion. Just like mine.
