You may not appreciate what he brought to the team, as I know a few other Palace fans didn’t. But I can pretty much guarantee people will see beyond black and white statistics when he’s no longer in the first 11.

His ability to bring the ball down and play was unique in our squad. And without a player of his ilk, I fear we’ll severely struggle in the top flight of English football. The only thing we’ve really got to fall back on is Roy being a good manager and Wilf.

Here’s to hoping it’ll be enough, because we don’t appear to be getting anywhere closer to seriously replacing Cabaye.
