Two prem loans, one on the final day as people come available. Maybe buy one player but can't see us paying anymore than 10 mil

All very depressing, am hoping for RLC at least plus 1 more midfielder.

no one?

I'm bemused why every "transfer window" turns into such a media non event?

Even fulham can sign several players but anyone linked to palace signs for A N Other

Well the paper I read must have got it wrong . But I looked myself and found this ^^ which gives £120,000 a week . Any loan for this guy is going to put a big hole in our budget .
Its a shame because he is a decent premier player who has found himself at the wrong club without a game on a Saturday . I suppose it all depends on wether he wants to see out his contract not playing and earning a kings ransom or maybe taking a pay cut and playing for someone else .

I remember there was a dutch player years ago who just sat in the reserves for a couple of years picking up first team wages , refused to move on and wasted his career for the money .

And we still need a striker

I`m always underwhelmed with what palace do when the transfer market is talked about in fact all the hype created by "not in the know" journos then relayed onto this hys should be called fantasy transfer talk because hardly any of it comes true. The least they can do is bring in someone to replace Cabaye .

Sounds like FDB as our manager.

That's the fella . Anyway things have moved on in the last couple of days with us being strongly linked with a couple of very decent players in Mayer and Antonio ,any predictions re Drinkwater I would say are now to be dissmissed

For a club who rarely buy and then quite cheaply, Palace do very well. There is the other side to this fransfer game and it involves offering a regular game to a player not getting that, though good enough.
REC is just such a player. As for the, wages, astronomical as they are, that is just another hindrance to a player getting a move elsewhere, but a loan with the home club paying those wages, or a good part of it, is not unusual. To have a high earning player sat on the bench with little chance of selling is bad for the club and the player and the longer the transfer window stretches on the more enticing movement is. Can Palace hold its nerve? SP is a clever negotiator.

Where does this idea that SP is a clever negotiator come from as he seems to be anything but.

Sticking out until the last minute to get Benteke and Sakho on the cheap but failing to get any reduction with either.

Leaving it until the last minute with other players to drive down the price but failing to get them as he hasn't left the selling club enough time to buy a replacement.

I'm sure that people with better memories than me will remember other instances

It’s on here or the bbs, can’t remember which, that Parish’s main tactic is to drive the opposition into a corner in negotiations and business. Well that’s difficult to do if they know you’re desperate for what you’re negotiating over and the opposition are also hard negotiators. Or you just don’t give the selling club any time to find a replacement and you end up looking really silly and rely on the new manager working absolute miracles after the previous one worked disasters when you were on 7 holidays.

But this summer could turn out to be outstanding. We’ll hope and see.
