Am i reading too much into the fact that in all the pictures and videos of him in Palace kit he doesn’t have a number? Assuming Meyer will get 7 why hasn’t he got 8? Is it being saved for the player that wore it last season?

A fantastic deal for Palace, and of all the defensive midfielders we have been linked with (Gonlans, De Souza, the young lad from Liverpool)Kouyate has been the one out of them I hoped we would get. Has been a very solid and dependable midfielder with a proven Premier League record so we know what we are getting so not as risky as bringing in someone from abroad and hoping they can adapt and settle. West Ham fans have lamented his effort recently. However, that may have more to do with him being unhappy at WHU since one of their staffs rather ill advised comments about African players.

I'm happy with this, its a low risk signing as he has been prem proven and a snip at 9.5m imo. Parrot
