When we first got into the PL I was of the mindset that 3 years of ensuring survival was required before looking to kick on to become at the very least a mid table outfit with the occasional 'overacheiving' season getting to europe.

5 years in, and each year we seem to be forever in the relegation scrap. Each year we somehow end up mid Table- which has belied our season of struggles. This cannot last forever. Each season we have expected to be toward the safe end of the relegation dogfight but still each season we are involved.

We have so far had a good preseason (3 transfers and still a week to go - whats going on!). So my question is; Is this the Season for us to have a relegation free campaign? It feels like it should be. Wilf is (still) improving all the time, we Added 3 great signings and have a couple of prospects coming through the academy.
We surely cannot have the same injury woes as last year, but even if we do, seem to have good cover all over the park, (fingers crossed CW can stay injury free)

All in, I'm feeling rather optimistic that this year can finally be that year that we can move away from the yearly relegation woes that have dogged us ever since we were promoted.

Onwards and upwards!

2013/14: Awful start. Pulis saved us. Ended up finishing 11th
2014/15: Awful start. Pardew saved us. Ended up finishing 10th
2015/16: Great start, Pardew naused it. Ended up finishing 15th
2016/17: Awful start. Allardyce saved us. Ended up finishing 14th
2017/18: Awful start. Hodgson saved us. Ended up finishing 11th

2018/19: The year we have a good whole season?

It's hard to really make an informed decision until the transfer window shuts. If our squad remains as it is and we don't suffer too many injuries then I would expect us to at least match last season's position, with a strong possibility of getting in touching distance of Europa league places.

However, Wolves look like they'll be a strong team and the likes of Everton and West Ham have invested strongly, so this is going to be a very tough year. On the flipside, Burnley were woeful last night and haven't added anyone yet to help them cope with the demands of Europe. Bournemouth also haven't strengthened and they weren't great to begin with.

1. Be at least 1-2 results away from 18th place. The bad starts created by the summer transfer windows are a big reason for this. Anything more is a possible bonus but we struggle without Wilf so stay grounded.

2. Plan for Zaha leaving on the pitch and in the recruitment area. Meyer will help here.

3. Have a plan for if Meyer leaves within 1-2 years and the profit from his sale. This will help us financially to smooth over Zaha leaving, if either or both of them do. Not saying it’s definite we’ll cope with it but 2 players netting possibly £150 million is going to help. Parish may well play an absolute blinder here and really cement us in the top tier for years with a complete overhaul of not only main stand but 3 of the stands and corners. Getting carried away now. Just concentrate on this season and next to begin with.

yes, Wolves do Look like they could be strong, but it's a little early to tell. Fulham also look like they could give it a good go. Our first game could be a corker! - Hate playing newly Promoted teams first up!

With Roy in charge I have high hopes of a top-half finish. Our squad is pretty thin so a few injuries could tank our season, but I have no real relegation fears.

To win more games than we lose. And a decent cup run.

Forget fantasy football. I may end up putting his performances in my w@nk bank.

why do you think our squad is thin, the kids are coming plus signings,we have a half decent squad, last season was a nightmare for injurys and we still finished higher than 9 teams so we are not in that bad a shape
