Personally I’m very happy -8/10 but if Meyer reaches his potential it’ll be more of a 9.5.

Guaita looks like he could be an excellent pick if he can get an understanding going quickly with the back 4.

Kouyate & Ayew both solid players with PL experience who can play in different positions.

Meyer has the potential to be a game changer & an upgrade on Cabaye.

There’s a bit of me thinking Wickham could be like a new signing if the medical & sports science teams have done the business. IF he can stay fit he’ll be hungry to get back to the top of his game & back to performances like the one against WBA season before last.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

for me 7 1/2 if signings work well 8 maybe 9, would have liked 1 more signing a striker,
Think we cover just about everywhere else,if Ben,Connor, sorloth, stay fit and score when playing it wont be a problem,
Until a ball is kicked we dont know how good our signings are,all we know is potentially we have a good squad, lets hope so

We wont know until the season is well underway but if the players click and we stay injury free this could be a great season.

On paper the squad is much better with more depth and if they all click it means that for the next few transfer windows we will look for quality over quantity.

8.5 for me. Strengthen where needed, done well in the market we are buying in, we aren't going to be buying the £30m+ rated players for a while.
Brighton, Fulham, Huddersfield, West Ham and Wolves have bought over 6 players each, the challenge they have is getting them to play as a cohesive team. We have a fairly settled side, so easier to slot one or two in.

I think it was the Benteke window I upset a few by giving it a 7, and that seemed great because of Benteke, but wasn’t with no decent left back cover, Jedi leaving and Flamini in as a free agent panic. Freedman apparently pointed out our weakness at def mid on tv during a home match. That turned out to be part of the reason we fvcked up that Autumn.

The Frank, 3-4-3 And Sakho window was definitely worse.

It therefore has to be higher than a 7 but Meyer and obvious gelllng details you just don’t know. Even Pardew’s Townsend and Tomkins signings were terrible under Pardew. And then there’s West Brom who appeared to do good business last summer and got relegated.

Lots of good points made on this thread though and it’s good to see almost everyone contented, confident of survival Parish also said he wanted for a change but cautiously optimistic of better than that. Hopefully we’ll make up for the loss of drum, conductor and flags.

I think the new deadline helps us, our manager and squad with how Parish prefers to do things and the competitiveness lost is only really experienced by teams in European competitions when those prices fall today. Having said that those European clubs will realise that they’re missing out on extra £’s if they don’t sell in time to Prem clubs.
