In work today had a conversation about who decides what is morally right and what is morally wrong (it all started about Boris Johnson). My opinion was that every individual decides what is morally acceptable for them and it is wrong to impose other peoples morals on a person. It got a bit deep then and points were made regarding imposing morals on your children and society imposing it's (learnt) morals on everyone. People started quoting philosophers!! Jonathan Dancey, Immanuel Kant etc. I then sent round the Monty Python philosophers song and laughter ensued. I work with many young degree holding people so it was interesting to see what they thought. The morality of murdering a young Hitler even came up. So who decides what is morally right and wrong? This quiz didn't help matters either [Link] I was one of only 2 people who came out as immoral

It is usually determined by consensus and by societal pressures. Aside that, individuals seem to have a rage of natural tendencies that are either created by nature or nurture or both.

What some people feel is moral or immoral can been chosen on what religion they have. Their religion chooses this for them, although this can change as times change. Parental influence can go either way. Some children follow their parents, some want to go against them as they don't want to be imposed on (teenage rebellion?).

Morality seems to have some key influences for the individual. Upbringing, religion and peer pressure are just some of them. A concensus of what is acceptable is enshrined in law. The workplace (in my experiences) is the place where morality goes out the window. 53x, violence, corruption, blackmail, lying, . . it all happens at work. Your examples are extreme and would have to be weighed up individually.
