He must have seen the offence because he issued a booking,and did in fact lose his "bottle" and decided not to show a red card in order not to incur the wrath of the home crowd. It was inevitable that he would at least book Wilf at the earliest opportunity thereafter. With such powder puff officiating we should be thankful that in the end Wilf came through the game relatively unharmed.
