I write to you, dear HOLers, from east Kent. The last time I was in east Kent, we played Watford north west of the capital. That time we won 1-0 with a penalty. Luck determines a repeat performance. 1-0 to Palace.

Watford are one of the few PL teams I don't detest (or at least I don't remember detesting?). Wilf seems to enjoy playing them so I can see him notching up an assist or goal, maybe even both. I think the manner of the Liverpool result will put some fire in the bellies of the Palace players and on that basis I'm going for 0-2. Townsend and Wilf the scorers.

I predict that Watford fans will whinge all the way through the game, the mascot will be their best player, every time Zaha gets fouled the entire Watford team will surround the referee. There may be patches of football breaking out. But it will mostly be clouds. I will be watching the game in a pub in Purley. Can anyone recommend one?

The Purley Arms is in fact in South Croydon but has TV screens and is a rampant Palace pub. Not the cutest but could have a decent atmosphere
