Boris' private life is of no consequence to me. Politicians can never be entirely truthful and it is quite ridiculous to criticise a particular politician for dishonesty and bonkers to think that politics will ever be 'honest'.

With this attitude, I can only assume that you have given up voting at elections?

Voting is very much a tactical affair these days.
Keeping Corbyn out must be a priority.

Speaking for myself, I'd see the priority as unseating this revolting Conservative government by whatever means possible.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I am disgusted by Boris' suicide vest comments. As another Tory MP has said he saw the aftermath of a suicide bombing in Afghanistan. It is a crass remark that if Corbyn had made the internet would be on meltdown.

I believe that Mrs May is selling us out on Brexit but there is no need for that type of language. This wasn't an off the cuff remark instantly regretted he must have thought this through whilst writing the article.

As a Tory I do not want him in power. The problem is I don't want any of the other candidates either.

They are a shambles but would you really prefer JC?
I'd like a Tory government with some balls and a proper leader. I can't imagine who that would be right now.

With you, Hrolf on the JC front who is no way near leadership material as proven by anti-semitism furore that he has allowed to fester - if he does not go then this will prove to be ammunition to any other Party leader to stick on him.Momentum and hard left do not speak to the masses despite party membership.

Conservative Govt is in an utter mess and is likewise tearing itself apart whilst the clock is ticking on Brexit and whilst domestic politics has been pushed into the background. If The Conservatives were a family then they'd now be requiring a social worker...

Liberal Democrats are nowhere to be seen and also completely broken. Cable talking of stepping down and now looking at reviewing rules for selecting new leader ...as they just haven't got the calibre of MPs to choose from and with Party Conference be enough to be held in a mini bus.

As for UKIP? They're finished as proven at last Local Elections and with Farage spouting of a return but never living up to his words.

So what we have is a broken political system with a UK electorate increasingly disenfranchised.

Would this be a fair summation of things at the moment?

Sums it up fairly well.
I feel that the country needs a right of centre party who will represent the majority in a post Brexit Britain while cutting immigration to a trickle and sorting out the housing crisis for starters.

Na....with the public Johnson has that Trump/Clinton effect.

If the average person in the street decides they like you.....that's pretty much it.

....though perhaps with Trump it was more....they disliked H Clinton and the progressives even more.

If people think Corbyn is anti semitic then they also must regard him as anti British because he's sided with its government's enemies just as much.

I have to say it....I think Corbyn has had too much stick over Israel.

I don't agree with him on Israel.....because I think it's more complex than his 'oppressor/oppressed' narrative....but I certainly defend his right to criticise it or its supporters without all this 'oh you're anti semitic'.

You know who are anti semitic......those who kill Jews or defend the killing of Jews because they are Jews.

I don't think the Jews need to worry about the 'baizuo' when it comes to real anti semitism....at worst they will get the usual virtue signalling harsh language......but they do certainly need to worry about it from a certain other group.

Corbyn is so bad that it may be hilarious if he does ever get into power. A bit like Charlie Chaplin at the controls of an 'air traffic control' tower.

I'd say that's pretty accurate.

I have zero faith in Corbyn's ability to actually run anything effectively.

You have to laugh when the lefties point at Johnson and ridicule his competence when they have probably the least able organiser ever representing them.

If he enters Downing Street the capital in this country will flee and the poorest will suffer the most when in desperation they are voted out......that will be the end result of it.

Socialism is a moral philosophy not a sensible economic system.

That's probably what angers me most about the far left.....it's that their historical impact has been to shaft the poor far more than any other political philosophy.....they lie to the poor about what is possible and then have the audacity to finger point and blame their opponents.
