Not for me I'm afraid, even if Palace were to qualify.

The Europa league is now seen as a bit Mickey Mouse, and a liability. Apparently everyone at Burnley are glad to be out.

In my opinion, the interest in this would be such that even the most avid TV football watcher is unlikely to watch this.

Overkill by EUFA trying to earn some extra revenue I reckon.

Only if qualification gets down to 12th or below have we any chance of competing. Still seems crazy, everyone moans like hell about the Europa league so why add another?

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Another Mickey Mouse competition.

What I found interesting is that the number of clubs in Europe will increase from 80 to 96. That means either this will be a 16 team competition or it will also include clubs that have been parachuted in from the Champions League or Europa league.

Sounds to me another excuse to give European football to "big" clubs who failed in their league or failed in Europe already.

They should of never have got rid of the Cup Winners Cup, maybe a revamped version of that would work? At least all participants would of won something rather than finishing 4th in the league & parachuting into the Champion's league

What exactly are we aiming for if not to see Palace in European competition?

I'd love nothing more than a trip to see Palace play some random European team, would be great fun.

Don't see what anyone would have against teams like us getting into Europe potentially in a competition with less qualifying rounds to ruin a season. All for it.

Surely the demon here is the premier league and the riches it's membership brings. The domestic cups have been devalued so much they are virtually worthless and now the european comps are suffering. A club like Burnley turns it's nose up at competing in europe just to keep it's place in the prem.

Yep. Martin Jol left Ajax to manage Fulham. Fulham!

Martin Jol is a lucky man, his parents named his two brothers Dick and Cock.

It will be like the nations league with two secondary competitions with the winners of each getting a champions league spot. Otherwise a waste of time. And hopefully both two legged knockout competitions to avoid too many games. The league bit of the champions league is dull, the Europa league phase is like pulling teeth

Jimenez sums it up for me. My idea is to have one European competition for all the domestic league winners, another European competition for all the domestic cup winners and a third European competition for a load of clubs that nobody is 100% sure how they qualified for it, but in the case of England, they include the League Cup winners.

I’m surprised nobody has tried this before...

Oh, and in the case of the third European competition, the rules will say that when we finally qualify for it, our rightful place must be stolen by the bin-dippers.
