There are some short memories on here, how many times did I read about Pardew making substitutes when we were winning or drawing and then going on to lose or draw. Yet now people are screaming for changes when we are winning and in control of the game.

Do you really think we were in charge of the game?

Would love to know what Max has done to avoid getting in the starting squad & now even off the bench, the lads quality

If you think we were ever on control of that game, you must have been watching a different game. Good 3 points, but play like that against anyone with a decent forward line and we'll get murdered.

well done hennessey

Hennessey didn't actually have much to deal with. A lot of good Huddersfield deliveries in the first half and some good efforts in the second, including hitting the post, but it can't be said that the keeper kept us in this one

The BBC radio commentators seemed to think we were bossing it but it certainly didn't sound to me like we were.

He made a decent save from the attack after the Mooy shot that hit the post but couldn't do much apart from that. They are a very one trick side and it makes it difficult for the opposition defence.

Impressed me quite a lot today - good with the ball at his feet, held the ball up decently, and pressed the Huddersfield defence constantly. If Roy decides to start Meyer next week I'd actually quite like to see us play our 4-4-2 with Wilf & Ayew up top and Andros & Meyer on the flanks. Either way, good to have Ayew as an alternative to Benteke/Sorloth!

But for one moment of magic from Wilf, we were frankly poor. Against a half decent team I doubt we would be going home with 3 points. No midfield again. Luka and Macca lucky to be on the pitch after giving up stupid fouls. Townsend not sighted today, time for Myer to start.

Yes, very rusty but a good worker - kept running and pressing until the end. Not a total passenger like Benteke.
