Not wanting to trivialise a serious and traumatic crime, but there are 'moments' worthy of repetition.

1995(ish)A mate of mine, aged 25, living in a flat in Clapham. He was 7th Dan in Tae kwon do (Olympic standard in a vicious martial art)
He was awoken at 2am by noises. When he went to investigate, there was a huge black man carrying his TV down the stairs.
*Things to consider:
Size is crucial in a physical encounter
You never know if your opponent is tooled, or how many of them there are.

"Put that TV down and go", said my mate.

And to his relief, the bloke fcked off,.....without the TV

A mate's house was robbed whilst he and the missus slept upstairs, their dog downstairs was drugged. He told me "they need't have bothered with the dog he is so dopey he would have held the torch for them".

A neighbours house was robbed a few years ago.
They went to the local car-boot sale to get some stuff to 'see them through', before the pitiful insurance settlement.

They perused one table, only to see all their stuff for sale.
They screamed and shouted, and before the robbers could make-off, all the exits were blocked by goodly citizens.

The robbers waz banged-up. Lucky for them they weren't put in a shallow grave

I’d have had the table (or maybe it was theirs anyway).

I bet the guys who broke into Duncan Ferguson's house had a tale to tell (after their release from hospital/prison).

Just imagine you are eying up some trophies to pop into your swag bag, you read the inscription- Presented to Duncan Ferguson, you think OH s***, then the light goes on!!!

Good point we keep reading about footballers in Cheshire having their homes burgled. Why don't they put a sign up "Beware of the Duncan".
