Ayew sorloth benteke. All 3 way off the pace and unlikely to improve Then there is Meyer who looks way to fragile for this league. Sakho is a good player but is like playing Russian roulette. Every game he does2 or 3 things that are suicidal.
Thank god Hennessy has come good because Guaita clearly hasn’t cut it.
All this points to a really shocking recruitment policy. It is hugely concerning that we have brought in all this dross at massive cost that is just not good enough.
The premier is now so tough it is undoubtedly hard but Bournemouth showed us up tonight as a team who worked harder had more winning determination in them and who cost a fraction of most other clubs.
Plus they have the youngest manager while we have the oldest.
We still have a long way to go.

After a shocking 1st half we came good after the break. Up to 1-1 we bossed the game, but just gave away initiative after PVS's offside goal.
And yes, gave away some stupid free kicks as well. Can not complain about the penalty....Wilf and Andros on top next game please.

Never a penalty in my opinion. Bournemouth player deliberately ran into Sakho's arm although Sakho was stupid to give him the opportunity.

Sorloth, Kouyate and Ayew look absolute rubbish. Sorloth has not looked good enough from the word go and I wouldn't touch a player like Ayew if they were refusing to train with their club as has been suggested.

That's how I saw it though it was a penalty . The player put his head in and Sakho pushed it away probably not realising he was being played .It was the second movement with the elbow that cost him giving the Bournemoth lad the opportunity to hit the deck as if shot by a sniper .

We have a mid table side that could be better with investment in a couple of decent strikers . Soloth should have been shipped out on loan and Ayew is no better than Fraser who at least had a bit of red and blue in him ,in fact I would say Cambell was better .

Without goals the players will loose confidence ,the team will loose faith in what they are doing and the panic will set in at the end of matches as we drop deeper and deeper to protect a point against very average sides and we will find ourselves once more in trouble at the bottom end of the table .

There was not a lot that was good about last night and we need a performance on Saturday to lift us all .

And we still need a striker

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Midfield balance not right' by Midlands Eagle

In our good spells last season we dominated midfield and defended and attacked as a unit.We looked well drilled and properly coached.
This season we don’t look the same team.Is it just because of losing RLC and Cabaye from the midfield or is it a deeper problem?
It’s early days but Kouyate and Meyer look very different players to RLC and Cabaye so Roy is going to have to find a new system in midfield to get the best out of the whole team.
We looked compact last season in midfield and retained possession well for long spells.
This season there are gaps all over midfield and possession is being given away cheaply.
Luka is not the same player and looks isolated in deep midfield.
Mcarthur is playing with his usual energy and commitment but without structure.
I think it will take another few weeks to sort this out so am not expecting a great improvement in our league position in the near term.

Well we touched both Hennessy and Cabaye who both did exactly the same thing and they turned out OK

Meyer is so like Cabaye. But I think he'll prove better for us than the Fenchman, purely because his best years are ahead of him. We were on top from half time until our goal last night, and around the time of our goal was also when Meyer's legs went. We need a player of his ilk to knit us together and became disjointed from the moment his legs went. It'll be interesting to see what Roy does in Saturday.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

With respect, the narrative appears to be that Guaita has been given a chance and has failed to deliver when the reality is that due to the improved form of Hennessey he has kept his place and accordingly Guaita has not been given a run in the side.Guaita was one of the top keepers in La Liga last season and he performed with some aplomb against WBA the other week.

In terms of Bournemouth's spending, let's not think of them as some small club who don't have much money to spend. In pre-season their spending was not too far off £50 Mill compared to the £10 Mill we spent. They spent £10 Mill rising to £11.5 Mill for a 21 year old Brooks who had no PL experience, nearly 11 Mill on full-back Rico and £25 Mill on Lerma. In previous season they paid over £21 Mill for Ake and £15 Mill for Ibe.

We were 3 mins away from a decent draw away against a good side. But for a clumsy mistake. people on here slating the players - get real folks sh** happens. I sometimes suspect these fans only starting supporting us in the premier league because from my experience there's no god given certainty we'll win every game. Highs and lows ...it makes winning taste even better.

I agree with some of that, but Meyer looked one of our only PL quality players on last night's performance and the only reason it appears Guiata isn't playing is because Roy has remained loyal to Wayne due to his solid start to the season.

Bournemouth were better than us last night. However, Bournemouth spent roughly £80m over the last two seasons with little back in return, so not quite the penny pinchers they are purported to be. They have started better this season but they haven't picked up any unexpected results, with the only top six team being Chelsea, who they lost to. Of the two I think we have the better players, but for whatever reason Roy has struggled to get us playing like we did at the tail end of last season.

With respect I don't view Sakho's actions in this category. To my mind it was totally irresponsible especially as the referee had issued a warning just prior to the free kick being taken.

I don't see supporters on here slating the players in total, they are just being critical of Sakho for his moment of ill-discipline.
