The basic truth is. We’re pretty s***. And the Frank de Boer debacle proved that neither the fans or board are prepared to make the transition necessary to improve and ever escape the never ending relegation style football.

Maybe we should stop using short term results as a bench mark for how good or bad a manager is. We determined Roy the saviour of the world after less than a full season and Frank de Boer as a useless clown after 4 games. The truth is if we are to ever truly progress it will take time and a manager who actually wants to oversee us progressing beyond being a club fighting a never ending battle with relegation is a manager who will need time, and we’ll have to take a few steps back before moving forward.

I’ve said it time and time again, we are going down eventually. The only thing we’ve been experts at is putting it off for another season. It will not last forever. And if we continue playing the way we’ve started this season, I fear it’s gonna go right to the wire again.

How many more lifelines do we honestly believe we have?

Totally agree. We hustle every season and then end up mid table and convince ourselves we are an established mid table outfit. We are not. We dance with the devil most weeks and sooner or later are going to come properly unstuck.

We’re a patched up squad / club. Great fun to follow but our recent signings - with the exception of Meyer perhaps - are really questionable! I fear for us on Saturday against an in form Wolves ...

Wilf looked out of sorts seemed off the pace,Townsend wasnt helping AWB enough, which left us vulnerable,we gave away the ball far to easily to often allowing Bournemouth to come at us,

Sakho having a brain dead moment,Ayew needs to find space he has the skills to run at defenders but doing it in the wrong position,

We looked ok the longer we kept the ball, then we would try a silly pass and lose control,
good substitutes timings, but even i think sorloth needs tobe farmed out to get more game time championship side would be best,
finally we should have played 442 instead of 433 they run us ragged in midfield

And 4 of our next 5 matches are against Arsenal,Chelsea,Tottenham and Man Utd.
We could well be in that dreaded relegation zone before those matches have ended.

I do feel that early season optimism amongst our supporters has evaporated and that realism has kicked in that this is going to be one long hard season.Just 5 PL goals in 7 games and there appears nothing to suggest that there will be a significant improvement in this aspect of our game.

Ayew is being asked to play the Benteke role but this is not his game, holding the ball up and winning headers. At Swansea he had players who did this like Llorente,Abraham and Bony. The Ayew I know from his Swansea days was a player who would run the channels a lot,had a good shot on him from distance and was capable with free kicks over a wall.

I sometimes suspect these fans only starting supporting us in the premier league because from my experience there's no god given certainty we'll win every game. Highs and lows ...it makes winning taste even better.

In fairness to Sakho, he did plenty of good things prior to his moment of madness.

PVA also had a moment of madness but got away with it.

He has a habit of scoring excellent goals, so perhaps we should play him as a striker.

If they don't improve we may have to cut our losses and let them go in the January window. Surely, there are cheaper, better and hungrier players from the Championship and lower leagues who could step up the mark.

I thought Hennessey and Meyer were our only PL standard players. Meyer will get better especially if we can find a poacher in the style of Gayle. At the moment we have nobody with the guile to get into space where Meyer can find him.
It is useless to pump high balls to Ayew (or Sorloth).
In the last few minutes when we should have been seeking an equaliser we couldn't get the ball out of our own half. Howe proved himself more astute than Hodgson.
Sakho has many good features but that suicidal arm chop when he had just been warned by the ref. proved that brains and common sense are not his strong points....
It does not bode well for our upcoming fixtures as 6 of the 7 we have played were about as easy as we are going to get .....

The PVA incident was just a mistake, it wasn't a moment of ill-discipline right in front of the referee who had warned the players. And let's not forget Hennessey's excellent safe with his feet following PVA's aberration.

Ayew sorloth benteke. All 3 way off the pace and unlikely to improve Then there is Meyer who looks way to fragile for this league. Sakho is a good player but is like playing Russian roulette. Every game he does2 or 3 things that are suicidal.
Thank god Hennessy has come good because Guaita clearly hasn’t cut it.
All this points to a really shocking recruitment policy. It is hugely concerning that we have brought in all this dross at massive cost that is just not good enough.
The premier is now so tough it is undoubtedly hard but Bournemouth showed us up tonight as a team who worked harder had more winning determination in them and who cost a fraction of most other clubs.
Plus they have the youngest manager while we have the oldest.
We still have a long way to go.

I find him very shaky and lacking confidence at the back. It is safer for Hennessy to kick the ball up field rather rolling the ball to him.

I'm usually very positive, but what worries me this season is that the performances haven't been there. Last season we were probably unlucky not to get more points, as once Roy came in there were not many games where we were not the better team or at least as good as (aside from against the top 6). When people were being negative last season I didn't worry as I could see the points would come. The opposite holds true for me this season. The only game where we were perhaps unlucky not to get more was against Newcastle. We got lucky against Huddersfield and probably Fulham too. Strangely, probably our best performance was against Liverpool, so maybe the next run of games aren't such a big worry!
