We will be fine.

Team needs a couple of tweaks that’s all.

Got a feeling Meyer will click with Wilf and we will start flying.

So many high-pressure penalties are slammed down the middle. Keepers should stand straight and not dive perhaps. No criticism of Wayne who has made several fine saves. Can we get a striker in January, please?

Every penalty is high pressure. It's all done on stats and probability. WH would have been told which way the pen taker usually goes, and that's the way he dives.

we're not relegation material this year but Roy has a lot of work to do to turn us into a decent side. We looked out of ideas for much of yesterday and often had no options for crosses into the box. Bournemouth are a good side but I'd like to see us able to break a team down. It's not like they parked the bus but they were very organised and got people behind the ball when we had it and it completely nullified our attacking threat. I'm not sure what the answer is with our current squad. We have a decent midfield but I don't think Roy knows the best players to pick - I'm not sure I do either.

Would be tempted to drop Sakho for a match. Ill discipline should be stamped out.

I think it was crazy of Sakho and he should've known better. Especially after being spoken to by the ref. You just can't have professionals falling for stuff like that in the 86th minute of a game.
The first half was woeful and it was worrying to see so many missed connections on passes and players annoyed at each other where usually they'd support an overhit pass or whatever. It felt like they weren't ready for the first half and some of them didn't want to be there. Worrying. Second half much better and bossed after the goal, but fell off again and the second half of the second half was like a reply of the whole of the first half.
A point would've been brilliant. Too many points have been dropped...Newcastle, Southampton, Watford.

If you don't score goals, you don't win games. If you can't close out games, you can't hope to snatch a point. We struggle hugely with these 2 basics and it's up to Roy & Ray Lew to at least ensure we can close out a game and grab a point.

As for trying to win a game ... don't worry as Connor 'Made of Glass' Wickham will be back soon!

We had a couple of attacks around the box with some really good build-up play that Meyer was integral to with his ability to pass in tight areas. Certainly looks like he'll give us the ability to break through compact teams rather than just relying on pace.

Roy please source and sort out a couple of strikers to do what strikers do best Score goals! that will mean to splash the cash otherwise game after game will be decided by the poor goal stats that palace deliver season after season.

We could well be in that dreaded relegation zone before those matches have ended.

I do feel that early season optimism amongst our supporters has evaporated and that realism has kicked in that this is going to be one long hard season.Just 5 PL goals in 7 games and there appears nothing to suggest that there will be a significant improvement in this aspect of our game.

It was vitally important that out of our first 7 games we picked up points. Liverpool aside everyone else are who you would consider similar to us and we needed points on the board before that run of games that Willo mentions.

7 points is just not good enough.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Thought Meyer was our best outfield player by far. For the first 15 minutes of the second half Bournemouth barely touched it and it felt like every second pass involved him.

Our real problems started when he ran out of steam. Hopefully he can get his fitness up and start dominating games for longer spells. Zaha needs someone else around him that can absorb two or three players to give him a bit of space. RLC did that very well last season. Hopefully Meyer can do it this season...and we get RLC back for the second half!

Sickening to think of the points we have chucked away:
Ward misses open goal with header in last minute v Watford
Sakho misses even more open goal v Newcastle.
Sakho gives away stupid penalty v Bournemouth.
So that's four points down the drain. And that's not including Benteke's miss from two yards v Southampton, as we have given up expecting him to score from anywhere.

The right place at the right time

the real thing I noticed about Meyer was that his speed of thought seemed a fraction faster than many of our players.

a couple of times, he'd have the ball at his feet and you could almost see a team mate thinking "oh, I should have made run there". even Wilf, I think, relies more on his skill than his speed of thought. if some of our quicker players just start running with an assumption they'll get the ball -- ie don't wait -- then I think he'll find them. the question is, can they find that anticipation?

btw, the way his legs went made it abundantly clear why Meyer's not been starting.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Does Ayew normally play on the right?
If so I would drop Townsend and play him there when Benteke is fit and in the interim just him and Wilf.
Townsend is a liability and only has his place as he is Roy's love child - he was when Roy was the England Manager and now we have it again.
Consistently poor performances - bar the League Cup - and yet he still gets picked every week.
If Wan Bissaka wasn't so good we would be in serious trouble down that side!
