He has.....but I stand by my view.

Nice to see one of my recommendations Foakes doing well.

I thought Sri Lanka was the home of spin?

Moeen and Rash doing the damage in Galle and Foulkes having a dream debut, its raining glove-men.

Someone has rather unkindly pointed out that England were 551-6 declared and went on to lose against the Aussies, I think 2006.

What could go wrong here, well the weather, a batting collapse, the pitch not wearing.

Eagles represented here by a spectator in the latest shirt p****d as one would expect.

England are in a commanding position and I would have thought that the only factor preventing an England victory is the weather.I am afraid I don't know the weather forecast for Galle.

The pitch not wearing shouldn't be too much of a problem as we bowled well enough on a day two pitch and even if we have a top order batting collapse I'm sure that Sam Curran can take us to a winning position all on his own

Sam Curran's action reminds me of Dominic Cork.

Similar mindset too.

An even better day 2. I'm still worried about possible rain though, hope it doesn't scupper us.

A great century on test debut for Ben Foakes, combined with Moeen taking 4 wickets, has put England in a very strong position.

Can anyone ever recall England playing 3 spinners in a test before?

Yet another good day but still a bit of a worry with some of the top order though.

Mo should be batting at 7 or 8 and Buttler/Bairstow should move up the order if being picked as as specialist batsman. Root should bat at 3 and one of those two at 4 but he's captain and doesn't want to.

My dear wife has a penchant for cricket as well as a desire to visit Sri Lanka and she suggested that we travel there to witness the cricket and to visit the various places including Galle where the current test is being played.I rejected this forthwith in no uncertain terms as it would preclude me from watching some of our games. The dear lady was watching this morning, commenting on the warm weather and muttering that we could have been there etc etc.

As for the test itself, I believe only the weather will prevent an England victory despite the pitch still being in a fairly good condition. As for the weather forecast, the commentator said they have got every forecast wrong thus far !

If UNESCO get their way this will be the last test at Galle.

You're just afraid of getting a bad case of Bombay Bum and spending the whole time in the kind of toilet where you stand up and don't look down. Woose.

I have worked in Sri Lanka multiple times. My room at the Intercontinental Colombo was blown up just after I left one time. Despite that and the generally run down nature of the place I love it. Galle is brilliant. Visit unawatuna beach. And the cricket fans are top, very generous and welcoming.
