I will let you know how it goes.

I am interested to see what they do with me. I have a pre-paid ticket for next season, am happy to be a singer and simply won't move. If they try to move me I have what I consider to be a decent legal argument and they may not wish to open up a can of worms.

As far as I know it is still unclear whether anyone that wishes to stay put and be a singer can do so, whether they then go onto a list and get relocated within E Block or whether that is simply not an option because there is some kind of secret pre-populated list.

Can you stand? If not, a bit silly.

WTF?

You need to get out more. People no longer in their 20s are often still capable of maintaining their erect position you know.

But thank you for asking, it's not something I had considered up until this point.

EDIT 3 (adds a safety concern)

This is the debate, right:

Those saying the club should accommodate the singing section:
--will improve atmosphere
--there are greater injustices in the world
-- the HF needed room to grow
--it's the club's prerogative
--there's no guarantee the stadium expansion, which might facilitate a singing section, won't take many years
--there's no guarantee a stadium expansion would facilitate a singing section if people are very attached to their seats

Those saying the club shouldn't accommodate the singing section:
--it unfairly places one group of fans, often younger, over another, often older
--the atmosphere isn't being too impacted
--it penalises some of our most loyal fans
--it will hugely disrupt the wider LH
----This includes a potential safety issue because the HF will stand and be boisterous in an area of the ground where some more vulnerable people sit
--it rewards the HF for withholding their vocal support and threatening the club
--the HF had a singing section and could just have waited until the old stand is expanded to relocate

what points, in very simple language, did I miss?

I think there is a middle ground

We don't know what the singing section is going to look like and whether large numbers of E block patrons will in fact be able to stay put. If so, the impact is reduced and there should be better seats available for the smaller number of people that want to move.

perhaps. I'm more interested in all the salient points being in one place, with a bit of the (understandable) emotion removed. If people want to continue the debate, I think it's helpful to at least have new thoughts/material points. Not the same stuff, said the same ways, with a topping of name calling.

Yes, I have. I’ve registered my interest to try and get a ST in the new section and have congratulated them on the decision. No response though.

Good luck asking the club about that - they don't seem to be making the decisions around here...

Where's your ST now by the way? Trying to keep track of where seats might be becoming available.

Yes, I will be attending a forum next Tuesday with my friend "Wilf King" who is an affected Block E season ticket holder.

I am an Arthur Wait season holder but feel strongly that the club have acted appallingly, without going into all the stuff on the last 60-odd pages on this issue.

I am only speaking unofficially here but from what I am told by some Block E "evictees" they feel it is a done deal but they might as well shout loudly and try to get as good a compensation package as possible.

Thanks jamesey - will be interested to see what your opinion as a slightly neutral person is of the meetings...

Rach - Hope to provide an interesting report on what happens next week, but must admit I am only very "slightly" neutral. :-}

I get the feeling they are just going to try to talk us into taking other - already available - seats . I expect very little ‘consultation ‘.

The main point you miss is the safety aspect of moving a couple of hundred uncontrollable, boisterous fans who consistently ignore stadium and safety regulations, into the middle of a group of normal fans, including families, who are there to just watch football and support their team. I just hope that no one gets seriously hurt.

I don’t currently have a season ticket. I therefore don’t expect to get in, and rightfully so, but worth an ask. They should go to fans with most loyalty points.
