I'm glad that they did get back to me and I am hopeful of getting a good seat but please don't think that this in anyway means I am still not very disappointed about moving away from the seat I have loved sitting in for the past 21 years and the people I enjoy sitting next to every game. And I am still angry with how the club and especially Parrish have handled the situation!

How are they going to enforce the "singing" section? Will those who take up the offer be monitored by CCTV and if not seen to be singing will they have their seats taken away? What level of "singing" is acceptable for the "singing" section"?

Your feeling should be the worst or the most disappointed, well it would be if the club could organise a p1ss up in a brewery. They can find multiple seats together of people who travel together for the match, but probably not 20 acquaintances packed together. There will no doubt be more available after this p1ss poor league campaign or relegation. What I agree and object to is the financial ‘compensation’ in Parish’s words, coming to the E400. If the 50% ST discount money has been eaten up before the new stand is built then they’re obviously worse off, and that’ll only take 3-4 seasons, with the new stand possibly not due to finish in 2-3 years time as some of the objectors argued but possibly 10 or who knows how many years. And in that new stand they should be offered first choice after no doubt the very expensive areas and the complimentary seats. Usually at football grounds you get different types of supporters in different stands, or in different parts of the stand, and would be the case possibly with a big new stand. But the club can’t organise or promise things with regards to the HF and first choice promises to the E400 perhaps mean so little when that new stand could be whoever knows how long. Half a generation? Once the old 1924 stand is finally condemned?

A seat swap will probably solve it so Parish doesn’t have to, you still may have silent standers unwilling to move out of D but at least the singing may travel and join up between E and B. However, if you intend to sit in E then you’ll have few decent seats to choose from elsewhere in the stadium once you get the hump after 2-3 League games (the performances are so sh1t then that you may put up with it). One of the factors here is whether or not people who love to sit behind the goal actually want a side-on view of the match, which is, obviously, very different from end-on. Personally, after years of standing behind the goal on the old Holmesdale terracing, I hated it when I had to go and sit in the Arthur whilst the new stand was built, and was never more pleased than when I went back to a seat in the LH, more or less where we used to stand (and back with the family group too). From behind the goal you get a great view of the pattern of the game from end to end - not the best when they are up the far end, but still able to see what's happening(goals confirmed by the Sainsbury's end rising to their feet!). You just don't get that view of the passing pattern and the spread of the game from side-on. No idea how many others actually involved will feel the same, but I'd put money on not being alone in this preference.

I have been on every side of the ground The best view was from the Old Stand with my dad but I moved for the best atmosphere to the Holmesdale as a wee nipper. We then moved to standing in the Arthur and managed to create quite a bit of noise. For some reason we went to the wilderness of the Whitehorse Lane end for a while, did get a good view of Richard Shaw goading Cantona into going mental. Then back to the LH 23 years ago. I have grown used to the end view and like it but the LH for me is really about the atmosphere. Mind you I am bang in the middle, bang in the middle. Best seats in the house. And I AIN'T MOVING!
