We have an academy. We have opportunities to put those players onto the pitch. Whoever is asked to do forward work for Palace (in the PL at home no goals) will be under no pressure - just allowed to enjoy himself. Results - does not score but controls the ball keeping opposition players occupied, good he is still developing - scores three seems to be close to being ready, on bench for next match. Roy completed AWB's admission to the first team squad last season, I hope he is looking at two more for this season. On Loan players are often overlooked to help the receiving club's team building. COYP and Roy

James Daly is nowhere near good enough. He isn’t physical at all he can’t get in to the Kingstonian team and although he has an excellent poachers instinct and a good work rate, that is about the only thing he has going for him.

In my opinion If we played him we would get slaughtered, no balls would be held up by him, we would constantly be letting the opponents recycle possession and we wouldn’t have any real threat.

The most promising thing was Wickham who looked really sharp, he is the sort of strong powerful striker our team is crying out for, his goal was an excellent bullet header, he hit the post, and it was his chip over the keeper that Daly finished after it was blocked on the line. If he can stay fit, which is a massive if, he will fit this team very well.

CW hold up play was rubbish. His header was brill. It was as if he was covered in Teflon(other makes are available) Dont get me wrong CW will improve given game time. Your take on Daly, imo, is harsh.

The fact that he doesn't go round hitting cow's bottoms with musical instruments is to his credit.

We need to stamp that out of the game. Frankly I can't believe we're sitting here, in the 21st century, even debating it.

I thought those days were over.

This might be a stupid question - so please don't swing anything from the string section at me - but is there a chance that Sorloth just needs a bit of confidence?

I accept you probably know more about football than me, but I do think that sometimes strikers get a break, their self belief comes back and they turn into completely different players.

I'd love to see a youth team players given a chance. Mind you, I saw David Swindlehurst make his debut at 17 against Notts County. We got beaten 4-1 at home and poor Swindie seemed to have had his confidence completely wiped out.

He was a fantastic prospect up to that point. Lean, fast (yes really) and hungry.

Then someone called Malcolm took him into the big boys' playground and he was out of his depth

As for we're not scoring is 'tactical' . . . REALLY?

Chill out...

Because what's the point of throwing someone in as a reward for scoring from 2 yards out into an open net? Surely young players need to perform before getting a chance. If not we might as well promote all the youth players to the first team regardless of talent. He is currently on loan to Kingstonian and not getting in the team. Not premier league ready.

Yes tactical, too predictable. We play like we have a target man up front, yet don't. Ayew scored 12 goals last season in the premier league. Doubt he has become rubbish overnight as he plays hot palace.

Levi Lumeka anyone? On loan at Leyton orient but not playing. They currently have ex eagles James Dayton & Jobi mcanuff ahead of him. Returned for our under 23s yesterday and scored both goals. Top scorer in the under 23s for last 3 seasons, and made his prem league debut under frank de boer last season, looking lively, coming close in a couple of occasion.

Might not be the answer but had always wondered why he wasn't given more of a look in.

Every time I seen the u23 highlights he sticks out, but get the impression Hodgson doesn't fancy him, looks like Orient don't either, which is concerning. Hopefully if he don't play we recall and if he is any good gets a bench spot
