Do we know if Zaha is fit?
Can Wickham start a game yet?

If both yes, i would do:

Hennessey
Wan Bissaka Tomkins Sakho Van Aanholt
Kouyate Luka
Meyer
Townsend Zaha
Wickham

Other questions to ask are:
When is Scott Dann going to be match fit as someone needs to put some pressure on Sakho.
Is Joel Ward good enough to play as CB?
Why isn't KaiKai even getting a spot on the bench?

Rumours on Wilf are getting worse, but who knows! Ward could play CB if absolutely desperate. He did it against WBA, but hopefully Kelly and Dann provide enough cover. Can't argue with that line up, although I still prefer Guaita over WH it's hard to argue on current form.

I guess Ayew plays on the wing if Wilf is injured.

Based on Wilf being out...

WH

AWB Tomkins Sakho PvA

Meyer Luka

Townsend Kouyate McArthur

Ayew

I think in games where we are likely to be on the back foot Kouyate should start as he adds a big physical presence, albeit his passing seems erratic. If Wilf is fit then I would start him upfront on his own and give him license to drift. Ayew hasn't convinced me he can play the lone striker role, but I could see him playing on the wing as he can dribble. I'd like to see Meyer further forward, but having him alongside Luka could allow us to start quick counterattacks with incisive passes. Hopefully Wickham can get half an hour.

Wayne
AWB Tomkins Sakho Schlupp

Luka Meyer Kouyate
Townsend Jimmy Mac
Sorloth

PvA isn’t defending well. Neither is Sakho but TINA. Assuming Wilf is injured, if not then...

Wayne
AWB Tomkins Sakho Schlupp

Luka Meyer Kouyate

Townsend Wilf PvA

.

So you'd drop our 2nd top goalscorer....

Yup. And on reflection I’d also drop AWB for Ward

Ward for AWB really..!!

Look I've said this before with the resources at our disposal or lack of them, I'd go 5, 2, 1, 2 so;

Hennessy
AWB, Tomkins, Kouyate, Sakho, PVA
Milo, McArthur
Meyer
Townsend, Zaha/Ayew

Ayew for Zaha not fit to start - but I suspect he will be with 1 extra day to recover as game is on a Sunday, so an additional day recovery time.

So in essence 3 at the back, 2 wing backs, 2 holding, 1 in the "10" role and 2 with pace to burn and interchange up front.

Do that and IMO we have a good chance tomorrow...!!

COYP
