We haven't found an adequate replacement since Glen.

But what I'm frustrated about is that we have been in the premier league for 5 years and every f***ing season it's the same.

Parish is having a laugh buying players like Sorloth. I mean get a grip. If we want to stay in the premier league and actually finish in the top 10, we need to start buying some proper quality.

Kouyate is OK, but he isn't Cabaye and to me he seems more of an average player then anything else. Meyer has potential but we can't rely on him and Roy isn't starting him so clearly he isn't ready. Ayew, honestly if he was playing yesterday I wouldn't have noticed. Another complete waste of space.

We are f***ing s***, that is really the most honest assessment.

Sako scored a few important goals last season, but Lewington literally had to shout instructions to him throughout the games. On reduced terms he was worth re-signing, and that's what we offered. Given how little he played for us that doesn't seem unreasonable.

I'm trying not to overreact, but there is something about this season that is deeply depressing. Without Zaha's occasional bit of trickery, or mesmerising dribbling our performances have been severely lacking in any form of entertainment. Having said all that, I don't think a draw would have been a poor reflection of the game, but you also can't really argue that Silva's do-or-die attitude was the difference.

Disagree with that.

Benteke's first season was very good, but the one that stands out as the natural replacement is Wickham. Towards the end of the first season he was playing at a very high level, and given the price we paid looked like he might be a great purchase.

We haven't dealt with the situation well in the last 18 months, but we can't blame Wickham's injury on Parish.

Whether he'll get close to that level again I don't know, but if ye hadn't got injured I think we'd have forgotten Murray a long time ago.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.
