Townsend and Luka both need to sit for a game. Give someone else a chance, I don't care who.

Kouate looked a little better.

Agree the bench is low championship level. Apart from the keeper.

The bench is better than you give it credit for. It wasn’t long ago Puncheon was starting every game and was club captain. Likewise Ayew scored 10+ last year in a shifty Swansea side. Wickham is obviously not match sharp but decent too.

Talk about being pissed off, week in week out it’s the same old Sh*t I said this when Hodgson was appointed he is Old School, past it. We had two good motivators at the club in Sammy Lee and Steven Reid , ok Reid left due to personal reasons, but Sam Lee was energy on the sideline. We need someone at the helm with modern thinking of the game, Hodgson and Lewington don’t have it. Dougie Freedman is a poor director of football, poor player purchase, only Meyer stands out, Sorlorth who was Hodgson choice is complete waste of time.
What is the bloody point of bringing Wickham on in the 89 minute and replacing Mac, Kouyate has done nothing all match. We had an oppertunately to Press Everton in the second half, changing the frontline by bringing on Wickham, Ayew Townsend Zaha on the wings, but we did sod all. This has been said season after season. We need to invest bring in players of importance, strikers, creative midfielders, chuck loyalty out the window, Again it’s going to be another desaparate January.
oh pissed if with this corrective spelling as well.

Sorry end of rant.

The bench wasn’t that bad. I’d have taken any of Wickham, Puncheon, Ayew or Kaikai over a knackered Jeff Schlupp with 80 mins in his legs.

Arguably I’d take most of those over a fresh Jeff Schlupp too though!

And can you honestly say that any of those subs would definitely be worse than Townsend was today? He was utter pony.

Schlupp was toilet today. Awful quality on the ball and decision-making that would be done better by a couple of NAND gates connected to a light sensor. Puncheon isn't great but he's better than that.

Roy needs to take the blame today.

I suspect that this is because of his lack of substitutes, however as I have mentioned before, in his mind the players carried his plan to the letter and he was happy with their workrate and organisation and would have been happy with a point - besides he had to consider what he had on the bench.
I think he felt that despite tiring, his players on the pitch were best placed to get a result and bringing on fresh legs when were were drawing might have upset the apple cart somewhat.

And of course he cannot be blamed for the missed penalty. That goes in and there would be a different mood on HOL.

Many saying our bench is s***e. Saying who would you have bought on? Any 3 from 7 that's who. Premier league players with fresh legs and fresh minds. More pace and giving Everton something new to think about, rather than allow them to just keep running at a tired side. Subs could bring on instructions to tired minds on who of all the fresh new attackers should be being picked up by who. There's plenty of reasons to use subs and practically f***ing none to not use them.
Sorry manager let his side down, again.
If you want Wilf to stay and RLC to join in January then we need to be doing better than this result wise. Performances haven't been outstanding, but been plenty good enough to pick up more points. Missed open goals by Ward, Sakho, Schlupp and Luka along with that elbow at Bournemouth have cost us so much already.

Roy should be given the chance to gracefully retire. With him in charge, and Luka on the pitch, we won’t make 20 points

What a wally comment!!

whats the point of moaning how crap the bench is.
Roy wouldnt use them anyway.
We coukd have messi and mahrez and theyd still sit it out.
Ffs he needs to freshen up at 70mins.
Have you seen the u 23s
Theres players there who would give you twenty minutes.

Disagree. Puncheon has been rubbish the last 2 years. Ayew looks pony in our system , Wickham hasn’t played football for 2 years.
C*ap bench in my opinion, can’t imagine any top level team had a worse bench this week.

Missing the point
Fresh legs change a game.
If he was happy with a point at 70 mins then pack the midfield. We have a squad for a reason.
